I have a v6. I have a straight 5. Now I'll have a super hi tech brand new 4 pot.

I'm buying it because I like it. The powerful hybrid version don't be here for a couple of years.

The 225THP Puretech motor? It's a mild update of the BMW joint-venture Prince lump, launched 2006, as seen in Minis and 1- and 3-series for a while.

Yes, but unfortunately not in the DS7.

I'm sure it's a lovely car, but don't you think it would have been lovelier with a 3.0+ V6? biggrin

Took another look at the DS web site and I'm giving up.
There's no way to download a brochure unlike most manufacturer web sites.
The colour choices for the 225hp engine are boring (apart from the red) and all the interiors are dreary black.
The car looks like it could be a worthy choice (apart from the depreciation) but the range of choices is dull and doesn't do justice to the car.

Not for me but it's a good looking car. Looking forward to seeing these on the roads.

I had a look round one in my local dealership a few days ago, first time I've seen one in the flesh properly. Personally it's not for me, I have an innate disagreement with the SUV trend, plus the touchscreen looks a bit involved - I'd rather have chrome buttons and switches.

However, switchgear all felt solid and I really like the design details, the rear lights look fabulous, the rotating front DRLs backlit in purple are a nice touch too. While I won't be buying a 7, I can't wait to see how DS packages their new cars in the range. I'm hoping for a super-stylish luxury estate, or a sleek French coupe tourer.

I've a top-spec DS5 in which I've spent thousands keeping immaculate over the last few years. Hoping to take it to France next year for the 100 Years of Citroen celebrations, so a big fan of the Citroen and DS brands. The DS7 isn't my thing, but if it's a sign of things to come from DS then I welcome it.

The alcantara in mine, as above, is most definitely grey rather than black but I concede that the colour choices are pretty poor. I would have preferred the blue. The grey is really nice but I have an aversion to grey/silver cars.

Not sure how you worked that out but that's not what I'm paying.

But thanks for sharing.

Nicest spec model as I would expect to buy, maybe would pay £500 a month for a Nissan equivalent, I really do want one but it will be after 12 months I think.

Ah ok. To put it in context. I am paying over £180/month less than that on a 4 year PCP. That's a deal direct with my DS dealer. 8k pa, 6 months deposit.

I did look at leasing sites for a comparison including Lings Leasing. None of them were remotely sensible on price. So for my £400.11/month I have a metallic red 225bhp peeformanceline model with 20"rims. Factory orders are 4 months min delivery.

Wow! You can lease an XC90 for less than that!

La Premiere is £43k list. To get it to nearly £1100/mo for 24mo on that lease site takes 30k miles/year and minimum up-front.

Petrol PerformanceLine is £35k list. Prices start at £28k.

Depreciation is, let's face it, going to be pretty damn stratospheric.

Have you ever thought that people might, you know, be willing to spend more for a car they really want instead of something that’s cheaper?

I could go to Benidorm for less than it costs me to go to the Maldives but I don’t because the Maldives is where I want to go.
