Anyone got the RS280 in automatic? If so what mpg are you averaging? Honest John says 35mpg
My commute is only 6 miles with roughly half motorway and half traffic
I wouldnt trust honest johns mpg. Our GLA is meant to get 40+ but gets 28!My commute is only 6 miles with roughly half motorway and half traffic
Im still properly lusting for the RS, I just cant get over the looks and internal. If theres a massive price fall due to Corona I might not be able to hold back
I was keeping my eye on the market for a toy. My eBay reminders popped this one up.

I doubt the seller is being honest about the level of damage on this car.

New front and rear end. Check!
Water stains on seats. Check!
Thats had a pretty big off and looks like its had water on the inside. Not withstanding those minor issues the matching of the Volcanic Orange paint is shocking and the bonnet isnt alligned properly with the upper wings.
Just going through the paper work with the GW2L deal on a standard 280 RS. I think they are saying June date (really). Didn’t get to test drive or even look round one before I placed my order but I was struggling to find something that would replace the Cupra 300 that I currently have.

It’s cheap though!!
Not really. Mine is prob worth 20k on a good day, same colour but much higher spec, 1500 miles and completely as new. Was half tempted by a change before all this but whatever I buy will just lie in the garage so hardly see the point at the minute.Dean-cktod said:

If it helps I had a Leon FR 184 before and didn’t find it to be a massive step down inside and think it looks great on the outside. I haven’t had something with as much power, felt addictive pretty quickly I was out for around an hour in one. Being driven and driving myself. If I get an update with my order I’ll post here. My current reply asking for updated eta on the 7th was ...
We are unsure at this time; we are waiting for an update from the dealer next week. It could be delayed due to the factory shutdown; however, we have nothing further on how long a delay may be or when the factory will re-open.
We are expecting many dealers to re-open late next week and should be able to give you more information then. I appreciate this doesn’t give you that much more news but if you could bear with us until next week we should have a better picture of where we stand then.

I think you'll enjoy it! I didnt even notice one on the roads let alone test drive before I got mine. Big leap of faith but paid off!!!moonigan said:

I'm not so sure. That looks more like it was hit from behind. 'water stains' just looks like the seats have been cleaned, that's allNew front and rear end. Check!

I can see that in my manual on motorway trips quite easily. I've managed over 40 from home (north of Cardiff) to central Bristol in light traffic. You could probably average 32 without much difficulty, but if you start putting your foot down occasionally and do short trips, your average is going to be nearer 27-28.My commute is only 6 miles with roughly half motorway and half traffic
With a commute that short I wouldn't worry about MPG that much!

The alignment looks totally off on the bonnet still. Plenty of cheaper toys available with less risk I reckon. It's a nice daily, but there's plenty of 'toy' cars I'd rather instead.Edited by framerateuk on Friday 17th April 14:00
Latest update from G2L
After the government announcement yesterday afternoon the dealers will be closed for another 3 weeks minimum, so unfortunately, we have nothing further in the way of updates for you. We are probably looking towards the end of May even into June by the time the factories and dealers re-open then they can get back up to speed as quickly as possible build the units and moving them about.
Just for anyone else waiting

Never driven a Renaultsport Megane before but seriously considering ordering one, I very much doubt I'm going to get a chance for a test drive any time soon so really undecided whether to get the standard sport model or the Trophy.
I'll use the car for 2 motorway commutes a week (40 miles each way) and the rest of the time for general use / drives for fun. I won't be hauling the wife and kids around in it too often but will do sometimes. Very much doubt it will see any track use.
So, would the Trophy be a bit too much for what I need, would I be better off with the sport on it's 18" wheels and softer setup for our crappy roads and motorway use? I've had some fairly firm riding cars before so not totally put off by all the reports of the Trophy ride being hard. Also, is the Trophy's engine more responsive than the Sport or has that now got the ceramic bearing turbo as well?
What do you guys who have driven both or own one think?

The 2020 spec Sport has the same engine as the Trophy, and I believe the active exhaust is now optional as well, so it really comes down to the chassis. I don't find it too harsh, but it really depends on what you're used toI'll use the car for 2 motorway commutes a week (40 miles each way) and the rest of the time for general use / drives for fun.
