Thanks, I always wanted to make it my own.
I was originally looking at matte ppf over the black paint, which I was quoted 2k, but the wrap came in at 1.3k, so was a no brainer.
Took me a while to choose the colour, nearly just went satin black, there was a blue, but I occasionally go see customers in the car, and the satin grey looks like it could be a standard colour so was the right choice.
Looks great. You also in Northern Ireland by the looks of it?I was originally looking at matte ppf over the black paint, which I was quoted 2k, but the wrap came in at 1.3k, so was a no brainer.

Hi all
Ended up with a lease deal I couldn't refuse and went for standard white RS280 Sport. Having had a R26 era megane before, I was hankering for cup spec, but several reviews, Evo etc all conclude that the sport chassis is superbly judged for fast road use and I will never track day it. I trust the guys in Dieppe. I went for the standard white as the orange and yellow just scream MLC for a man the wrong side of 50 (just!), and the other colours just don't do enough for me to justify extra spending. I wish they did either the old F1 blue or the R26R lunar grey, would've had either of them.
Ordered first week of May for early July delivery, however got call yesterday to tell me arriving in the country 08 June, so happy days. Very excited and just spent silly money of detailing products...
BTW - I assume the current lease deal cheapness is getting rid of the MY18 cars in readiness for MY20. The Renault configurator is still only showing MY18 - seems such a long time as the MY20 changes were announced in Feb (although I assume covid has delayed this). Would love to be suprised and get the latest spec, but am not holding my breath.

Someone may correct me but I believe these aren't built in Deippe anymore as they're only doing the Alpine? Happy to be corrected. Disappointing if true as I always felt their stuff was built to a higher standard and gave less trouble on the more regular renault bits.
On another note got a run in a friends 2018 civic type r yesterday. Once you get past the looks it drives very well. Its close but I would still pick the Megane however,. It just feels lighter on its feet/more responsive. The type r does have it in a straight line but thats not what renaultsport has ever been about.

Correct, the Mégane production takes place at Palencia, in Spain including the RS models!Someone may correct me but I believe these aren't built in Deippe anymore as they're only doing the Alpine? A cool little video below of production if the lockdown boredom is taking over!

That’s a decent turn around from order to delivery! I placed my order on a Trophy first week of January, due April 27th. Been delayed but hopefully getting an update this week! I went for Liquid Yellow which the other half detests! But I think colour choice can also lead to a longer wait time.
At least you’ll have something to look forward to given the lockdown going on. Interesting for you to see how your experience differs with a 280 against that of your R26 (also agree with your comment on colour... Albi blue would look great on a Mk4!)
Not overly sure as well on your last point either, when ordering the Mégane in January I was told the facelift was forecasted for around Easter, but given the current situation it might be saved for 70 plate production later in the year... I’m not sure!

Have always loved Renaults to be fair, so never considered a Type R - I do think they look a bit too OTT for my tastes.Someone may correct me but I believe these aren't built in Deippe anymore as they're only doing the Alpine? As for the Dieppe thing, I think the Clio IV was the last Dieppe-built RS model (could be wrong), but I was referring to the development team.

I was caught up in a similar delay as originally had an order in for a VW Polo GTI, but delayed further and further and luckily managed to cancel lease with no cost to myself.RWoods93 said:

You're a braver man than I. RWoods93 said:

Yeah, will be an interesting comparison. I had an RS Tuning stage one on my old Megane which made it quite the bulldog. I'm looking forward to the 4WS system too.RWoods93 said:

Sounds about right doesn't it. Would love to have the MY20 car for 3 basic reasons. 1. 300bhp in the standard car, 2. full size instrument binnacle, 3. large infotainment as standard (much larger than the current larger portrait screen). Still think the current front lights look slightly better though.
I think the Estoril 18s are still standard. Shame there aren't more vids around with those wheels on - the car looks nice and stealth/Q with them on.
As an update I am really pleased with the Michelin Supersport tyres, well worth the extra ££ over bridgestones.
I am booked in for a service at the end of the month, with alignment check as i did have slightly biased tyre wear. Also asked for satnav updates and RS monitor installed as its missing.

Interested in your findings. I have 2 R26s and have looked at the new Mk4. Its huge in comparison and I am sure, overall, a quantum leap ahead of the r26 in most respects. I like the idea of the RWS for tighter corners. Only thing putting me off is the std wheels, they look a bit 'basic spec' to me and that huge border around the main screen which makes it look like my TV from 15 years ago! That said, the new facelift model has improved this.A bit like you, i read that the std suspension is best for road the Cup is just too hard.

Yes I kind of agree about the wheels. I say "kind of" because with the very cheap lease deal I got (£179.00 PM) I was stuck with poverty-spec and no option choice and so I've managed to convince myself that the 18" Estorils are the real Q car wheels to have!! I did have colour choice but ended up sticking with the standard white as the only choices that I liked were the orange and the yellow and, apart from being (just!) the wrong side of 50 for colours like that, I'm not spending £1500 on paint. With no options I'm also stuck with the 7" infotainment screen (you're right about the size of the bezel btw), but as per above I've managed to convince myself that if it's good enough for the Trophy-R it's good enough for me! If I'd had free run of the options list I'd probably only really be speccing the bigger screen and maybe the black alloys. As for the cup-chassis, I'd probably still be umming and ahhing over that now.A bit like you, i read that the std suspension is best for road the Cup is just too hard.
Been told that the car will be with the PDI centre on 23/06, so not long to wait now...

Good news that mate, something to look forward to after this lockdown period! Similar boat myself, dealer said the car is arrived in the UK this week, but could take 2 weeks to get to the dealership!
Ordered on 4th January, feels like the longest of waits but there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
Interested to get my teeth stuck into this infotainment system, might take a few hours to get my head round the menus it seems!
