Ordered first week of May for early July delivery, however got call yesterday to tell me arriving in the country 08 June, so happy days. Very excited and just spent silly money of detailing products...

BTW - I assume the current lease deal cheapness is getting rid of the MY18 cars in readiness for MY20. The Renault configurator is still only showing MY18 - seems such a long time as the MY20 changes were announced in Feb (although I assume covid has delayed this). Would love to be suprised and get the latest spec, but am not holding my breath.

That’s a decent turn around from order to delivery! I placed my order on a Trophy first week of January, due April 27th. Been delayed but hopefully getting an update this week!

I went for Liquid Yellow which the other half detests! But I think colour choice can also lead to a longer wait time.

At least you’ll have something to look forward to given the lockdown going on. Interesting for you to see how your experience differs with a 280 against that of your R26 (also agree with your comment on colour... Albi blue would look great on a Mk4!)

Not overly sure as well on your last point either, when ordering the Mégane in January I was told the facelift was forecasted for around Easter, but given the current situation it might be saved for 70 plate production later in the year... I’m not sure!
Ordering for Megane is now closed and expected to open again in August for the face-lift.

Interested to get my teeth stuck into this infotainment system, might take a few hours to get my head round the menus it seems!
Have a practice here smile : http://r-link2.renault.com/menu/system/display

Hi I'm currently looking at replacements for my gt86, I wanted to pick people's brains a bit.

After a bit of hassle trying to find a dealer who will let me test drive an RS I finally have a drive booked in for next week.

Just how hard is the cup suspension day to day? For the next year I'll be doing about 60miles a day of mixed town and moterway driving, I need something with better NVH than the gt86!
Is the infotainment system really as bad as all the reviews make out?
Did anyone here compare rs to i30n to civic, any thoughts?
Given the choice would you wait for a facelift car? There are apparently a lot of RS cars sat in import and the dealer feels good offers to be had...

Don't know what the dealer you are dealing with is smoking, there are hardly any at the import centre:

  1. a 280 manual in red with the parking pack, and multemedia screen upgrade
  2. a Trophy EDC in Arctic, alcantara Recaro's and BOSE.
  3. 12 Trophy R's, maybe he's hoping to squeeze you into one of those, may be a tad on the pricey and not very practical side!!
There are also 9 physically at dealers.

Seems odd that that he has said what he has said re availability, as it isn't true, he is wasting both his and your time.

Thanks again!

I don't think any of those quite fit the bill.

The Trophy R doesn't strike me as something I can use daily! I guess at least I'll know how they drive so will be in a better position when order books open?

I have trophy, suspension is hard but not jarringly so. You soon learn where the potholes are on your frequent roads!
Mine has the smaller screen. Its not as good as VW but works ok. Tomtom satnav is good. I prefer buttons, using it whilst driving is hard going. Seems to be getting a bit slower/glitchier recently after 12 months of ownership. I understand that the big screen does away with the air distribution controls, I think operating these on touchscreen would drive me mad.
I previously had mk7.5 Golf GTI 230, no doubt it was less of an animal but a much better car. The Megane feels like a bigger car, but seems to have a more cramped cabin especially in the back. My wifes Yaris is better at transporting 5 people! The other thing that isn't as good is placement of the window switches, too far back!!
Trophy is way more fun though, I have no regrets.

The GTI was a much better car than the trophy?

As an every day prospect, yes. Cabin much nicer, functional and comfortable. I regularly got over 40mpg on the trip computer, and 400 from a tank. By the end of the 2 year lease I craved a bit more drama and luckily the Trophy was on a reasonable deal at the time. Trophy is obviously faster and sounds sweeter which more than makes up for it for me and my current driving wants & needs.

Thanks for the feedback! I do need something I can use daily and will be easy to live with when I don't want to be on it. At least at the moment. Yet I still love a good backroad blast! Really struggling with what to get.

In my opinion, there are no 'bad cars' any more. Whilst reviews are helpful they are also slightly misleading as (in my experience) highlighted flaws are relatively insignificant. I don't think you would regret a Megane RS/Cup/Trophy. Its >95% the car that a Golf is, and an absolute weapon when required.

I get my Trophy in 2 weeks and having had an audi S4 for 2 years i'm looking forward to something with a bit more character, as good an all rounder as the audi was. By the sounds of it this should fit the bill nicely.

I agree with this, I'm hopefully test driving a trophy later this week (the cars li battery was flat). Fingers crossed it's not as harsh as the reviews make it out to be.

I'm not a big fan of German cars, I've also had a seat Leon cupra and it's far from my favourite car. It's was good, but clinical.
If I'm honest I think my choice will come down to Mégane, civic type r or Giulia Veloce..

Still waiting on mine to arrive, ordered the 1st June and ETA is 27th July. It’s on a lease for 2 years so kind of out of the loop as to whether it’s built or not.

Would love a facelift and if I knew about the facelift I would’ve waited a little longer before ordering. It’s povo spec with the small screen so the facelift screen would be a great advantage.

There has been no confirmed spec for the face-lift Megane, whatever version.

I stand corrected. I just remember seeing a article showing an updated interior, hopefully getting rid of the tiny 7” Screen as standard?

Still not heard about mine. Ordered early March. I’m trying to be patient but last I heard, on 10th June it’ll be at the dealers by the end of June.

For me its not the size of the screen that was the issue but the huge border which made it look like an early tablet, horribly dated. Just thinning down the edges has made all the difference

Just had this from GW2L:

We have some good news, your new vehicle is now on site at the supplying dealership.
