I have just read through this thread and enjoyed doing so.
I am picking up a 2019 Megane RS later on in liquid yellow and trading in a 2019 118 M-Sport that I have only had 6 months.
The used car prices made the trade in value almost £2k over what I paid for it, so really strong.
The BMW is a great car, I just wanted something with a bit more zoom, and am really anxious that I have jumped away from the BM too quickly.
However this has been a reasonably reassuring thread, the only concern I have is the rather naff infotainment as the iDrive system is really good.
Thanks everyone for sharing such detailed info.

The infotainment is actually fine in the RS. I prefer a control wheel over a touch screen so iDrive will always be better, but for a touch screen setup the Renault system is good. The sat nav ETA's are a lot more realistic than BMW as well!
I don't know whether you have the larger portrait screen specced on yours, but I find this really helps with navigation too as, compared to a landscape screen, it shows a lot more of the road ahead if you have it in 'direction of travel' mode. Really useful in unfamiliar areas.
The only thing I really, really dislike is the touch screen climate settings. I want a physical button to chance the fan speed on the move, I don't want to be flicking through menus when trying to drive. Unfortunately, it seems this is now a trend with a lot of manufacturers.

We have an M-Sport like yours and it's a very nice daily driver but compared to the Megane it's nowhere near as exciting or interesting to drive.I am picking up a 2019 Megane RS later on in liquid yellow and trading in a 2019 118 M-Sport that I have only had 6 months.

Thanks, my one does have the larger screen and to be fair it is no where near as terrible as I was expecting. The infotainment is actually fine in the RS. The iDrive system is brilliant and I was fully expecting this to be dirt, however it is certainly manageable.
As far as driving goes, it is great, great and fun.
I’m another one looking at trading in and going for a used Trophy 300. I only have one concern, which is the stories of problems with the batteries. I know these don’t affect everybody, but there seem to have been quite a few people with problems.
My question is to those who have had battery problems - have you managed to find a fix that doesn’t involve having to charge your battery every few days and has any better compatible battery appeared in the aftermarket now?
p.s. apologies if this is a bit of thread hijack, but this seemed like the best place to ask this.

Left my 300 for two weeks while I was away the other week. I had my battery replaced under warranty and there's also been a software update released that I had done at the same time. Was only 2 months ago though so it's too early to tell if it's resolves the issue entirely, but the stop start does seem to kick in more regularly now.
One thing to bear in mind is that the earliest Trophy's came with 3 year warranties and they were about in early 2019. By the end of the 2019 though they had 5 year warranties, so if possible I'd try and get one of those.

It's really not that bad, you just have to adjust your mindset a bit compared to a car with a normal battery. For example, when I arrive early somewhere and I swtich the engine off, I open the drivers door to shut down the dash/radio etc, rather than let it play and drain the battery. If you drive it every day you shouldn't have any problems.
Honestly the Bose isn't that great anyway in all fairness, so you're not missing much.
I'm not all that bothered about audio in cars, all my Renaults have been a bit 'meh' in the audio dept, so I figured the Bose upgrade would be worth it, but it's still a bit meh
A friend has a Merc estate and the audio system in that is a whole different level to the Megane. I appreciate it's a bigger car with more sound proofing, but the difference is massive.

With the help of PH, I have finally been told by Renault that production WILL start again and orders will be accepted in the ‘coming months’.
So anyone wanting a factory order is going to have a bit of a wait.
Interesting. Who’s told you this? So anyone wanting a factory order is going to have a bit of a wait.

New Megane has now been revealed as a full electric SUV, I too hope Megane RS reopens and soon!!

I seriously don’t understand why Renaults communication is so bad.
IME all brands struggle with this. Also RUK don’t get very good information from France until normally after the fact which then gets passed along to the dealers. It can be frustrating for us as well as the customer.I seriously don’t understand why Renaults communication is so bad.
