Anyone know of a fix for the exhaust flap squeak on the Trophy? I know it's a common issue and assumed if I ever got it I'd be happy to ignore it but my god it's loud, in traffic it sounds like someone's pushing a rusty wheelbarrow behind me.
Can it be oiled or greased? Or can I force it to stay open by removing a fuse? Not particularly concerned about noise.
I read that a couple of people had replacement exhausts under warranty which seems overkill (and the problem will surely just return a year or so down the line), don't really want to go down this route.

Isn't the exhaust valve always open when you set the exhaust setting to 'Race'. This can be done by setting up Perso mode. If this is not the case, I'd be interested in what fuse to remove to disable the valve and leave it constantly open.
After your post I tried popping it into race and perso (with race exhaust setting) earlier as an experiment and no, the squeaking still persists in both unfortunately! Then its a case of getting the car onto a hoist, removing the diffuser, starting the car so the valve is open and then pulling the cable out of the valve controller. From what I understand you get a one time fault code 'check engine' come through, which can be cleared and then doesn't return.
I don't know anyone who has done that, but I've certainly done the same before in BMW's and Audi's.
The preferred way is working out what fuse to remove however.
I think I'd try that before replacing the exhaust.

Has anyone had issues with their fuel gauge? Mine seems to have given up the ghost, reporting empty even after I filled it up yesterday.
Yes. First fill with E10 I got suspicious when 100 miles in I still had a 'full' tank. The tank also ended up with a journey starting with 105 miles range left and a short acceleration to 70 resulted in it briefly reporting 35 miles before going to the usual 'empty'. Took 53 litres to fill it back up at the next station I passed. Annoyingly I had planned to refill with vpower for E5 fuel but the inconsistency in reporting messed that up.

Don't suppose he's got a skill for sorting gearbox noises on RS Meganes? Mine's making a very unpleasant noise - a tapping at very low speed and a whining above 40mph. All signs seem to lead to a gearbox bearing but have to wait a few weeks to fit it in at the dealer. 6 months out of warranty, 21k on the clock and a full Renault history so hoping for some goodwill if it's a big job...
It’s a brilliant car except for the lithium battery!
I bought a brand new trophy 69 plate 2 years ago and I’ve done my best to look after it as best I can like all my previous cars. I take pride in them. I started having issues with the lithium battery around 18 months into it being brand new. I had occasional faults showing up such as power steering. Despite the UK lockdown I still did my best to drive the car as best I could including 2 journeys a week 30 mile round trip. One Saturday afternoon the car went crazy and the alarm kept going off. Tried to silence the alarm and the car was completely dead! Had to call out the RAC and the car was jump started. It then threw up a load of errors and I was escorted to my local Renault dealership. They inspected the vehicle and found the battery was to blame and they agreed to replace it. I had another phone call two days later to state I was lucky to get it replaced and they then started blaming me for not driving the vehicle!! Cheeky bds!! It turned out it was the battery at fault! New battery was replaced and now I’m starting to get similar issues again!! It’s a shame as the car is brilliant. The lithium battery is a problem and at £800 it’s not something you can buy at your local Halfords. I was told it could take 4 weeks to get a replacement from France!! I’m now debating if to keep the car once it’s 3 years is up on PCP or to cut my losses and move on to something else.

Had the issue with the battery the other week. Every warning light under the sun. Got RAC out. All sorted. But it really makes you lose confidence taking the car out. Get this actis solution 60533 applied to your car (some dealers not aware & or too lazy to apply!) then the problem largely goes away apparently.....me I bought a Sport 300 instead with a good old fashioned 13KG battery as do not fancy being stranded anywhere!I bought a brand new trophy 69 plate 2 years ago and I’ve done my best to look after it as best I can like all my previous cars. I expect Renault are regretting fitting that battery technology to the Trophy for the sake of a couple of Kg saved. I don't think you can just swap to a standard battery due to the different charging circuit.I bought a brand new trophy 69 plate 2 years ago and I’ve done my best to look after it as best I can like all my previous cars. The RS280 uses an old school battery. So doesn't suffer this issue.

Yeah I was aware of this and Cardiff Renault said it didn’t apply to my vehicle and to stop looking at forums on the web!! They completely dismissed it. They were even supplied with the information and still no idea if they did end up applying the update.

I suspect you also need a new battery (the real reason why your dealer does not want to do this or look at it properly!!).
I've pretty much decided that I'm going to get either a 300 or a 300 Trophy towards the middle of next year, most likely in orange or red (I like orange, my wife likes red).
There aren't any other cars that tick as many bozes- auto as my knee is wrecked, my wife likes the the way they look (she had a mk3 RS megane), not VAG and can get the dogs in (otherwise it'd be a Giulia quad)
I honestly can't decide between trophy or sport, I got annoyed with my R56 Cooper S as the suspension was too stiff so I'm leaning towards the sport. I do want the LSD though...

Good luck if you want a new one as they haven't been available to order now for many months and I cannot see them returning. There aren't any other cars that tick as many bozes- auto as my knee is wrecked, my wife likes the the way they look (she had a mk3 RS megane), not VAG and can get the dogs in (otherwise it'd be a Giulia quad)

It'd probably be a lightly used one I think, I can't justify a brand new one. There are a few for sale now, though mostly in yellow, which I love, but think I'd get bored of.
I'm hoping that by next summer the prices will have come down a bit. Who knows though.
The only issue I've got at the moment is the lack of bose as the stereo is a massive part of a car for me
