Yes, would have been the first one to drive it on an open day at my local Peugeot Dealer but I was working 
So instead they invited me around at another date and I test drove a 2ltr BlueHDi 180 Manual GT Line.
Ok, now there is nothing wrong with the gearbox in this car, its precise and not clunky, but it needs an auto box to do it justice and the EAT8 really is a nice auto, just a shame the demonstrator was manual.
Is it nice to drive?
Yes, very nice, its comfy, has loads of tech in there (especially the GT or launch edition), red looks great
though the pearlescent white isn't too bad either, neither is the blue but red really sticks out.
On the road its quiet, comfortable, handles well for a car of its size, is a little low but i'm use to climbing into a 3008 SUV, boot space is huge, back seat passengers shouldn't have any issues with leg or head room (well I had none and i still had a few inches to spare being 5'10").
I would say go test drive one, Peugeot's now are far better than they were 10 years ago, more reliable and much better build quality, go for the EAT8 speed Auto though, that's really the one you want to test drive

Really nice cars to drive, great driving environment with the i cockpit, great build quality, no rattles or squeaks, no issues either, big boot, cruises nicely on the motorway (both of them), good down the back road, can handle the poor road surfaces well, 1st one had grip control, 2nd one doesn't, it does make a bit of a difference if you live in a rural area but not necessary if you don't.
Its more than spacious inside, rear room is good, even with the panoramic sunroof, you can still get a couple of 6 footers in the back ok though you do lose a little headroom with that option fitted.
Worth looking at, considering its size, its not bad for road holding either.

Does it waft? Yes, very nicely
Ride quality? Varies depending on the mode it's in but in Normal mode is quite plush
Roomy? Yep
Build quality? compared to my 2016 308GTi, very good
Spec? For the First Edition, the only thing it can't do is fetch me a brew and slippers, it can pretty much do anything else
Performance? It only comes as an auto, so 0-62 is about 7 seconds i think, it will do 155mph apparently. Long journeys is about 40-45mpg, short journeys is 30 something and A roads commute is around 35-38mpg but then mine is only 3000 miles in so far.
Am i happy i bought it? Yep, it's a whole different ball game compared to previous french cars i've owned.
Oh mine is the 1.6 petrol, makes about 225 bhp i believe so a bit of a drop down in performance compared to the GTi but this thing does go in sport mode

Just a little update on the new 508.
For the love of all things mechanical, if you do buy one of these, be prepared to visit your local dealers regularly. We’ve had the car 4 months or so and it is scheduled to go in on Thursday for a software update and a few other updates including the drivers door window to be replaced.
So far this will be the fourth time it has been in for ‘updates’ and i suspect the car is trying to follow the theory that every cell in your body replaces itself every seven years. Only in the cars case it’s every seven weeks.
Don’t get me wrong, its still a great car but someone somewhere must be having problems or PSA released it to the market too early to have to have this many updates so soon in it’s life.

We should be getting one on a PCH in Sept - £223 per month for 23 months with an initial monthly of £669. GT-Line, 1.6 auto, 5k pa with a reasonable-ish excess mileage rate of 11ppm all inc VAT. We opted for the no cost solid colour as we couldn't justify paying the £600 when we'll be leasing and it would have increased the monthlies by £25. We've been warned that it's a boring colour.
Looking forward to the car. Makes it even better when we got it on a good deal.

Most have been software updates but one of the recalls is for the drivers door window to be replaced. Why i have no idea, it does and always has worked perfectly but there we go. I think a lot of it is down to the fact the car has so much high tech stuff in it, mine has no bulbs bar the main headlights, the rest are all LED's. The dash is completely digital TFT etc blah blahLooking forward to the car. Makes it even better when we got it on a good deal.

I still think it's a great car and enjoy driving it and it does ride amazing and i wouldn't go back to the old 308GTi over this.
Just wish they would sort it once and for all but i suppose it's a bit like Apple and it's updates.
