How reliable are Citroen tyre pressure sensors?

Since discovered that the life of a tyre pressure senor depends on the little battery inside (surprise!).
They may wear out quicker or slower, depending on use, but 5-7 years, so at six, mine is right in the ball park.
A dealer has quoted me £180 for one.
But my local KwikFit can do it too, for a lot less!
