Looks good!

On a side note - if you have to change the number plate on these - prepare for it to take longer than it should! The plates seem to have been drilled on with some sort of rivit - never seen this before. Was great fun trying to remove!

I’m a month and a bit in (another Fish bros lease order), and thought I’d post some thoughts.

Firstly, there are definitely some downsides- as was mentioned on here the gearbox does seem reluctant to release gears from time to time - albeit at 650 miles in it has improved a bit so hopefully that will continue. Again as has been mentioned the infotainment is pretty poor for 2020 and the dashboard doesn’t look particularly well designed with the small screen. It’s fairly firm on the cup springs and not perfect for a long mway journey - though far from being unbearable.

Apart from that - love it. It was ordered on a bit of a whim as it was a good deal and I wasn’t sure of how they looked beforehand, but in the metal it looks awesome.
The engine is great - a fair amount of lag but strong and already keen (and hoping it might loosen a tad in time still), steering lacks feel but show me a new car that doesn’t, but it’s absolutely fantastic on a range of roads - nimble on tight B roads and so planted on faster stuff. Prefer the weight on normal rather than sport myself.
As has been said, the exhaust is funny too - normal mode until out of my road then race all the way (if no kids / wife in the car!)

Does anyone know if it possible to have the car in Perso all the time? (i.e. doesn't revert to neutral if you don't hit yes within 15 seconds of starting the car)

And what are people's thoughts about track days assuming there might be some still on later this year!

Mine was the same, the dealer knew that I was going to remove the plate but still pop riveted it on.

When I looked into this I found that in France it is the law to have number plates pop riveted on, no screws etc. allowed.

Didn't like getting a drill out on my brand new car.

I've no idea if all Renaults/meganes come like this now and if it's related to the French rules or if it's dealer specific, but as you I've never cone across this before.

Re. The mode, no it's not possible. I believe in order to get the emissions rating it has to reset to the default mode on start up.

I’m waiting on mine, have to extend my boring Arona and service it now as the wife needs a car for work (nurse)

Renault factory shut until May/June I’m told

I'm a long time lurker on here and have been drawn towards a Megane RS as I love how different/understated it is. Currently in an interim Mini Sooper S. I was in an S3 before and whilst it was fast in a straight line, I was left somewhat bored. I was also fed up of boy racer types staring at me at traffic lights rolleyes

I have a couple of questions, Is the trophy chassis too hard to live with day to day? I won't be doing a great deal of mileage but maybe a few long motorway runs here and there. Are there any options that are worth looking in to on the car?

Thanks in advance smile

I've got a trophy and I find it fine, I think it's down to preference. Its mostly speed bumps and rougher surfaces where its harsher, but I dont find it a problem at all.

Motorways will be fine I think as I doubt you'd notice the harsher suspension.

I have recaro's bose and visio on mine as options. I would say the visio system is close to useless. Bose and recaros are a choice really if its what you want. The recaros are nice and worth it in my opinion, but ive sat in the standard seat and it is still very nice.

Hopefully someone here can shed light on this one -

Took delivery of one of these on 27th Feb.

Letter with notice of “initial rental invoice” of equivalent of my monthly payment (1+23)

2 x payments came out mid April on same day (presumably initial plus monthly rental I’m thinking?

Letter dated 27th April arrives today saying I’m currently the equivalent of a month rental in arrears? Along with a nice threat under 87(1) Comsumer credit act!!!

Anyone else in same boat? Can’t get through on phone!

Similar to me, my plan is 3x23, car delivered towards end of Feb.
Following month one payment, followed by three payments a few days later.
Rang ALD to give them a round of f##ks, got nowhere, at least only one payment following month.
Not happy as previous three deals, car delivered & first payment within 30 days, then one payment per month there after.

Car arrived Mid Feb.

The first (3X) payment went out a month later (1 month late) and the first regular payment went out 10 days later.

13 March (3x)

23 March (1x)

23 April (1x).

All good here.

Luke.

Hello all. Just wondering if anyone knew when the Megane deliveries were starting up again. I ordered a 300 in February and not heard a thing since. Going to get in touch with G2L Monday, but just wondered if anyone knew anything. Ta.

The factory closed down, but like others I would think June will be starting production, the Feb car should be built just sitting in a compound waiting for delivery?

Even though not used mine much since lockdown due to WFH, still glad I have it for the occasional clear out.
Looking at current deals those of us with these deals did very well?

I’m actually suprised at the fuel economy this gets.

Previous car was a D4 Volvo v90. Average MPG over 2 years - 36mpg.

Over the past 2000 miles somehow I've averaged 31mpg?

I know it’s lighter and there are less cars on the road, but I’ve driven it a lot harder..
