Full service, driveshafts seals, oil breather seal, gearbox oil change and cambelt replaced by AW. Great service!

I’ve probably been spoilt by German cars over the years. But I do find the gearbox a little notcier than I’d expect. It almost feels as it I have to either change at higher revs or be a bit more forceful. Is this normal? I wonder if the linkage maybe needs some adjustment?
Nice! I'm not sure about forceful, but otherwise I'd say it feeling a bit notchy is pretty standard and I agree on the feeling of needing to change at higher revs. These gearboxes hate being cold and get better once warmed up too.

Mine sometimes struggles to get in 4th when cold. I'd definitely consider it to be one of the notchiest gearboxes I've ever used. Warm its fine, but it makes the first few miles irritating. Trouble is I cant remember if it was like it pre-rebuild, probably the same.

It's going up for sale as soon as I find a suitable 4 door replacement for the same money I can get for it.

Mine is a bit awkward from cold changing the first few gears. I used to find I missed the odd shift when I was trying to drive it gently around town (think I've cured that now with better technique). Never had an issue when 'on it'. Guess it responds best to a positive action.
