Renault Clio Mk3 Auto Gearbox problem

Bonjour all,
I have a problem with my auto Clio which sticks in third gear after going up a hill when cold. The Check Gearbox light comes on.
I have googled it and have come up with the answers that the pressure sensors in the gearbox may need changing.
I'm not mechanically minded so would have to put this into a specialist which would be a complete pain as I can't find any near where I live. The two garages I use don't really want to touch autoboxes.
Big job? Difficult job? Expensive job?
I haven't had the car long and it was £3000.
