I've a 2020 Renaultsport Megane that conked out on me the other evening as I pulled away from a T-Junction, the dash lit up like something big and lighty uppy and due to the angle I was facing and being unable to turn the wheel due to no power, I was completely stuck.

Not really knowing what to do other than Google Renault Assist, I called the 0800 number, pressed #2 then #3 on the keypad for breakdown. I then received an SMS to the RAC site where I filled out incredibly basic details and I was notified an agent was on the way - excellent and no cost to me.

Due to the car being lowered and well into the evening, the car required being flat bed moved to my house where it was then moved again the following day.

With no courtesy car being available, Renault Assist again came to the rescue by getting me a hire car within the hour that I will have until the repair is completed, again at no cost to myself.

This is the first new car that I've had that has required recovery so I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of being looked after, I have to say I can't imagine a better service.

Perhaps this is how all manafactures deal with issues such as this for under warranty vehicles but regardless, Chapeau Renault Assist!

p.s It's a likely U/S fuel pump on the Megane and I've a horrible feeling there are no parts in the system.

Japanese RS mechanic changing the fuel pump on an RS recently to give you an idea of the work involved!

RS did a fuel pump recall a while back on some older RS MK4 so you might get lucky on the availability of the fuel pump.

Yes Renault Assist is one of the best recovery schemes. When you buy a new RS they stick the card with the number on it inside the front windscreen...shame on mine the windscreen had to get replaced so I lost the business card!
