Peugeot 407 Coupe
Discussion
Hey guys, I'm normally in tvr forum but popped in here.
I'm currently on my 3rd 406 coupe and I have only ever had coils go on one in last 5 years of ownership and a few fuses.
No problems at all and I love them, hate the look of the 407 coupe tho.
BTW my last 406 coupe DID have active suspension but my newer current one does not.
I do not know if optional as last one had every optional extra imaginable but someone decided to drive into it at speed otherwise i'd still have it- thanks
I decided to give my 406 a makeover instead of getting a 407. Had a custom chromoflake chameleon paint job done instead.
Now it looks the business!!!

I think the 406 Coupe has elec controlled adjustable suspension, which acted on the anti roll bar on the front suspension, cars with this spec also had different strut ratings. I have also seen a police spec 406V6 Estate with this set up.
I think all of the V6 406 range handle very well, with or without elec wizzardry

You only have to look at how many nearly new Peugeots are on non Peugeot forecourts to support the industry figures that suggest that Peugeot went backwards by 20% in terms of registrations.
Considering what they are investing in Asia I don't think they're currently that bothered with the decrease of domestic (Euro) sales.
Although the 207 is more a new segment than the replacement of the 206 it is likely to sell well, at least in mainland Europe.

James, Is it electricly controled Active suspension or Hydraulic as in the Activa??
It was electrically controlled, sorry think i mucking fuddled, I just read the thread again- long day lol.
I just absolutley love the 406 coupe, I was without one when I sold it to buy the TVR, I had a great weekend toy but I missed it so much I just had to buy another. I had 4 cars in 4 months between for same cash- Corsa SXI, Polo 1.9 TD, Fiesta Zetec, and Luxury KA, all absolute rubbish.
Just needed the sweet smelling leather of the coupe, a year or two older but just gorgeous.
I ended up having to get one with the Tan interior- still not sure about that.
Hi -
Im not a salesman anyway thank
Yep 406 coupes are quite nice vehicles - as stated the most common thing with the ES9 V6 engine is coils failing - other than that ive done head gaskets and a couple of radiators and timing belts on them over the years, 406s are quite sweet handling cars....
