Can anybody help me out by posting the option list for the outgoing 182/cup/trophy and what all the differences are with all the different cup packs etc? Thinking of buying a used one, or a new 197 but not sure which to go for yet.... Cheers

I'll give you the basic run down off the top of my head as I'm feeling generous. But can I first say, DON'T BUY A 197! There rediculously overpriced.

182 - 2.0 engine 180bhp
Xenon lights
Part leather seats
Auto lights + wipers
Headlamp washers
Climate control

Optional Extras: Cup spoiler pack (front lip spoiler & larger boot spoiler)
Cup suspension pack (anthracite wheels, revised suspension, stiffer steering, wider track)
6 CD autochanger
Carminat sat nav
Recaro seat pack

182 Cup - 2.0 engine 180bhp
Cloth seats
Standard halogen bulb lights
No auto wipers or lights
No climate control but has A/C
Cup packs as standard.

182 Trophy - 2.0 engine 180bhp
Same as cup with the following additions:
Turini style anthracite wheels
Recaro seat pack
Sachs dampers
Capsicum red paint.

Colours available were: Titanium Silver, Black Gold, Inferno Orange, Arctic Blue, Racing Blue.
ID Colours (£1500 extra): Petrol Blue, Liquid Yellow

Thats about it I reckon.

Cheers for the info mate... but why say don't buy a 197 when you haven't driven it yet? I may be able to get 20% off list price, so if I am able too, thats in the running as well... will drive them all when it comes out i reckon

I'm also not convinced about the 197 - just doesn't seem to offer enough over the outgoing model expecially with the increase in weight.

If you get a 182 I'd definitely recommend a car with the recaros - awesome seats. Then your basic choice is whether you want all the toys (full fat) or the stripped out performance (cup/trophy) route. If you are looking at full fat then there are a lot of cars about with the cup suspension and spoiler packs so you can get a good compromise between the two. I'd say go for a Trophy, but them I'm biased.....

I say don't go for a 197, because I hate the looks of the thing. It really does look too much like a Nissan Mirca, which it is based on. It also looks pretty damn similar to all the bog standard ones, now colour coding is on every model. Its also no faster, weighs almost 200kg more. It may be amazing to drive, but the weight is such a crucial factor I just can't see myself liking it. The only reason I would get one would be for these:

Another off putting fact is that some guy on the official RenaultSport forum, has ordered a new 197 to the cost of £17,500, I don't know what you reckon to it, but to me thats extortion! His doesn't even have xenon lights. You could get such a better car for 17.5k it just seems such a rip off.

Cheers for the info... does anyone have any good pictures detailing the difference between a standard 182 and a 182 with cup spoiler packs?

Cup suspension packs can be identified by the colour of the wheels (silver/anthracite - can't remember which way round - polarbert?)

I'll go and have a route for some pics but basically cup spoiler gives a front lip spoiler and an enlarged bootlid spoiler.

Looks pretty mean from that angle

Gonna have to wait til I see/drive one I reckon... must say a well specced 182/trophy is looking more favourable atm

Okay, so basically you can see on my car compared to the blue one the rear spoiler is larger, the most obvious thing to notice is the rear brake light, which overlaps onto the top of the spoiler on the uncupped car, but you can't see the top of the brake light on mine.

And the front is pretty self explanatory, the black strip on mine is the spoiler, which you can see missing from the blue one.

Nice one, you don't happen to have the option list with prices for the 197 do you? Tried to find it on the official website but no sign of it... when are first deliveries in? Later this month?
