Pug 306 Electric Windows Fault.

Hi,

I have a 97 306 LX that has developed a fault with the electric windows. The switch on the drivers door no longer makes either window work. The swtich on the passenger door still works the passenger door one.

This to me indicates a problem with the switch itself. I've taken it out and nothing appears loose or broken.

Is there anything else I can try before I get a new switch?

Can any one recomend a parts supplier? I've looked around on the internet but no where seems to stock them.

Scrapyard or wanted ad on the relevant Pug forum would seem sensible. Also could try swapping the switches over if they are the same.

Ph1 Pug 306s can suffer from problems with broken wires in the flexiable wires from the body to the door (by the hinges). Usually leads to central locking issues forst but may be worth a look.

thanks for the response, I will take a look at the hinge wiring tomorrow. The local scrapy here seems to have gone downhill recently (stockwise). I'll try further afield and see if I can find one. cheers.

You could try linking the connections out, get a multi meter find the feed and then just link it out (I think there are 3 connections, feed, open, close

Swap the switches form the side that works (becuase its hardly been used preumably) to the side thats knackered and vice versa. Then just put up with the occasional moaning passenger.

New switch will be about 17pence from a scrapyard so its not the end of the world if you have to get one.

Could this stop the electric mirrors moving aswell?

They had a 306 on autotrader (some car programe with Mike Brewer on) and a very simular thing happened on that, when you used the mirrors the central locking changed!!
