Hello Chaps,

I am picking up a 2002 Clio 1.4 in a couple days.

I want to connect my iPod so that it works via the steering controls and dash display. Anyone on here done such an install sucessfully?

My car has the OEM single CD changer but I do not know the exact model number until I get the car.

Cheers,
Dino

I did similar in my 2003 172 Cup, if you have either the Tuner List head unit (I think that was the model) you can use a Connects2 unit (about £85) to plug into the CD changer socket at the back of the head unit.

Its easy to do, and there is a small hole at the back of the glove compartment, which you can easily fit the iPod lead through, removing the head unit is easy too.

This won't use the dash display though (as its only got a display for track numbers so couldn't show letters), but does utilise the stalk controls which is quite handy and of course is a seamless integration.

BUT, I didn't get on with mine one little bit, although others do praise them, mine would refuse to spot my iPod at times, sometimes not change track, other times it would cut out and blast out white-noise, so after getting frustrated I've switched to a Pioneer HU with an external iPod interface, I've also got the stalk adapter, but need to take the dash off to connect that up.

Cheers for that Tripps.

I think it is the Tuner List model. I have looked at the owners manual but it does not state the model number. I will get the unit out and check the back.

When you say it doesn't show the track name in the dash do you mean where the speedo and revcounter is? i am referring to the info display mounted in the centre of the dash with the clock and temp display. Thta shows radio station names so surely it could show track names?

Also, what sort of tool did you use to get the headunit out. Do I have to get special bits from Renault?

Thanks mate.
