Apologies if this is really obvious but I raaly could do with clarfication on this Is the engine from the Xsara 2.0 vts the same as the engine from the Pug 306 gti-6? If it is what sort of issues are there with the engines.

Yes its the same.

Only issue i know of is cambelt and tensioners.

Some 306's have a weird stalling problem. The engine cuts out on a trailing throttle, usually coming up to roundabouts and junctions. More about it on the gti-6 owners club forum but the citroen should have different wiring so may not suffer.

Caused by a variety of things though, including lamda sensors and idler valves, so I thing it's engine specific. There was a thread about it here a month or so ago.
