In Part 1 of this rivetting saga(sleep) many of you were kind enough to offer advice on how to beef up my rear suspension to avoid that sinking feeling when towing my race car on a trailer.
Whilst the right answer is probably to use bigger diameter torsion bars (from an estate or Berlingo van perhaps), I think attempting to extract torsion bars that have been on the car for ten years now, could be a frustrating and ultimately futile experience.
The car feels 100% better for having new dampers all round, but this wont correct the nose-up-tail-down attitude when towing, so I'm looking for another solution. My thoughts are either; big compliant bump-stop rubbers that come into play after a small bump displacement, or some kind of spring assisted damper. Any thoughts?

Do the opposite of the saxo boy racer brigade and raise the rear ride height by turning the torsion bars.Might be interesting without the trailer on though.There is a chap in devon who does recon/repaired rear axles maybe you could get him to custom build you one with bigger torsion bars .Or see if a xsara rear axle will fitit should do the mountings are the same.
