This may sound a bit of a daft question.

What exactly is the speed limiter found on most Renaults fitted with cruise control?

Works off the cruise system, backs the engine off if you try to exceed the speed you set (unless you put your foot to the floor and use the override i guess) Can kind of act like cruise except you have the flexibility to move within a given speed range (ie, 0-70) without having to resume the cruise every time you hit the brake.

I found it quite useful when i drove a 182. Whenever i was in an average speed camera zone, just set the limiter and you dont have to worry about it. It's quick and easy to turn off should you need to accelerate out of danger
