New 'Luxury' Motor for Prescott

It's a limo John, but not as you know it...

Prescott's new motor?
Prescott's new motor?
Ex-Deputy PM John Prescott is set to lose his ‘Two-Jags’ handle, but only if he gets his new job as head of the British Delegation to the Council Of Europe in Strasbourg.

After leaving the Cabinet, he was forced to hand back the keys to his ministerial XJ, but his new job would compensate him with… a brand new Renault Vel Satis.

The £35k 3.5 V6 litre Vel Satis might not be a Jag, but Prescott might be happy with its 147mph (alleged) top speed and a boot big enough for many, many pies...

Pity Renault didn't use it in something decent like the Clio V6.

Slight problem, said engine happens to be enclosed in possibly the most horrific, unsightly bodywork ever seen!
ETA: Oh yeah, the Rodius... biggrin

"After leaving the Cabinet, he was forced to hand back the keys to his ministerial XJ,"

Shocking news, even when he was caught with his pants down the other month he didn't have to give up either his grace & favour housing or indeed his tax payer funded jag. I guess at least the freebies continue with the European tax payers now funding the cars & expense accounts.

Maybe the European tax payers will bail out his constituents who didn't bother taking out house hold insurance & lost it all in the recent floods, oh no sorry, that'll be the British tax payers forking out for all those would-be insurance bills. I think ill have to move to Hull & cancel all my car & house insurance in the knowledge that the tax payer will bail me out if it goes pear shaped.

I didn't know Renault still made them, I thought it bombed like the Avantime (which I actually quite like paperbag

Anyway, back on subject, can't we ensure that Prescott never darkens our shores with his presence again?

Those Italian boys are still quite corrupt, maybe we can put a 'hit' out on him Mafia style?

The Vel Satis is not the UK Renault website - seems it was quietly dropped. However it is on the French website. I know it is not the best looking executive car, but I somehow like it for its unabashed ugliness and some of its interior design details.
