what a fantastic thread - very interested to see how you guys are getting on now?

what would you say the general cost of ownership is yearly on maintenance, if you could add the mileage you do a year approx and age/mileage of ccar that would be helpful too!

Friend bought a 2007 Bentley GTC last year, just under £30k, full history , well maintained, mid 90k miles.

He has done about 800 miles in it, and spent £12k so far:eek
The engines needed to come out to address some sensor issue.

I bought a 2010 model W12 CGT with 38k miles a couple of months ago. I've spent 2k getting it right. Rear brake light, oil pressure sensor and loom repair, indicator lenses, 3 stage polish and ceramic coat and some minor body work. It has since been perfect in my ownership over 1.1k miles. Early days of course. 12-15mpg. 20 on the motorway @ 75mph. Insurance £350 pa. Amazing thing. Talk to a good specialist. If they know the car, even better. I was advised to avoid cars with very low mileage. They don't like to sit around. Go into ownership with your eyes open and its a delight.

Replace it with an Arnage (or I imagine a Mulsanne). Much more enjoyable to wrench on. (A bit better built, but mostly they did better at resisting cramming every technology known to man into it.)

I think the Mulsanne might actually be a little bit bigger, but I'm not sure....
