Found a nice guy in Reading ( and just off the M4 J11) did a nice electric trace and repair on my Spirit and v reasonable. Sir John Majeski trusts him with his cars so should be ok

I can highly recommend Nigel Sandell in Middlesex...had my Super Sport serviced there back in May.

Give give Simon at Phanton in Farnham a call, more Surrey than London but they know both old and new. Plus they race them so they get to see more elements at the limit.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Eventually went to phantom motors who are brilliant and very knowledgeable. More than I can say for the two main dealers I approached previously about my brakes. Standard diagnosis of 'they all do that sir'. Stuart took one look and immediately offered a solution. Looks like I need to make slightly longer trips for my servicing needs from now on...even with a years warranty left!
