Hi

My recently acquired 1993 Turbo R seems to have something missing from its toolkit. I have the adjustable wrench, but I don't know what goes in the slot indicated by the arrow in the attached photo. The various other toolkits I've seen for sale on eBay also seem to have this slot empty. I thought at one point that it might be the hubcap removal tool but that seems to be a different size and shape. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Jonathan

Tyre tread depth guage. The standard PCL one you can buy at any accessory shop.

Thanks, but are you sure? The one in the top left corner has 'PCL tyre tread depth gauge' stamped on it. It's a similar size to the empty slot but slightly bigger, so I think the empty slot must be for something else.

It's clearly something else. My car's later so little point in looking at that.

The slot is for the key to undo the central hub cap on the alloy wheels the hole is for the pins to pull the little round cap ( one with 2 small holes in ) off to access the lock or on the RR the chuck to undo the RR badge

Thanks - do you mean this one? I can see that the holes more or less line up, but the tool doesn't seem to be held in place by anything. Hmm...

If I remember (getting difficult these days) I'll have a look at my toolkit this weekend and see what's in that spot.

It looks like some sort of stubby screwdriver shape - maybe with the bits in the head?

Being a slightly obsessive sort of person, I ended up phoning Bentley who referred me to P&A Wood (their official 'heritage' dealer). I received a very prompt reply from P&A Wood as follows:

"We've had a look at couple of diagrams and a couple of cars in very good condition in our workshop and that slot is also empty. I've spoken to our Modern Department Supervisor and we believe that slot would probably hold a hub cap key of a late Rolls-Royce Spirit as they would be slightly different.

As far as we are aware this slot remains empty for your car."

So the mystery is solved, and I can get back to driving rather than worrying!

Thanks to everyone who replied to the thread.
