Beware of using a CTEK charger
Discussion
Depends if your cigar lighter is live when the ignition is off. My E36 3 Series will charge my phone via the cigar lighter when the car is otherwise "off", so clearly it has a "live" cigar lighter, but the OH's E87 1 Series won't, so a battery conditioner would have to be attached to the battery terminals or some other dedicated charging point, if there is one.
NB. My E36 usually has a CTEK plugged into the cigar lighter.

Thread resurrection!
The Continental has a magnetic gubbins for attaching the charge lead under the boot lip. I suspect mine is faulty because the charger won't connect.
Is there any reason why a C-tek with cigar adaptor won't do the same job? The doubt in my mind is the dual battery setup.
Probably better to replace the faulty bit under the lip or add a new socket there as the rest will be taken care of. It is probably a simple split charge setup. The Continental has a magnetic gubbins for attaching the charge lead under the boot lip. I suspect mine is faulty because the charger won't connect.
