I'm still undecided, the thing only has 10500 miles and these don't exist in the US. Had it been a flood, it would be ruined but right now, it appears that only external damage occurred. I guess that it all depends my body guy.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'd vote with a no. The rear longitudinals (certainly the LH) are buckled which you can tell from the angle of the boot in this shot:

Interesting project though so I await the long and complex readers car thread! smile

Keep taking the brave pills!

I met with a buddy of mine who's a very skilled body man that spent his life fixing Ferrari's and other exotics. He thinks that it can be fixed and we have a bench at the shop. He won't know how bad it is until he benches is and pulls the structure before doing any metal work. He's thinking about taking the job on. In the meanwhile, I managed to get the hood open and the engine bay is covered in mud up to the timing cover. I'll have to drag it back out and pressure wash it before the next update. Then I'll move it onto the lift and inspect the underside.

If he does not want to take the job, it's not going to get fixed as I don't trust anyone else to do it but provided that there is no major mechanical damage, the car might be fixable.

If he does move forward, i'll have to hustle and make some cars disappear so that I can clear some space.

Best of luck with the jig work. It’s a shame to see a coach built car die so maybe this one gets a final chance to live again!

Not yet, i'm still trying to work it out with my body man. In the meanwhile I picked up this 96 Continental R with very light damage that I can knock around in until we figure out what to do with the red car.

Thats better. Strip the red one, get rid of it and spend your time/money dealing with the black one.

Agreed, Sad to say but use the red one as a parts bin.

It would suck to do that but it might be the most sensible thing to do. I keep asking myself where I would ever find another 10,000 miles Bentley Continental? It will go on the back burner. I watch the salvage auctions and every now and then something comes up that can turn a project around. If another salvage car with an interior fire or something similar comes up. It could possibly save it, but for now, i'll put it on the back burner.

Is that a Chrysler 300 badge on the black one?

Yes it bloody is. And those are Hemi badges on the side. The PO obviously had a sense of humor. I didn't meet him as I bought it at auction. I'm just glad he didn't put 24" spinners on it.

He he... I'd keep the 300 badges. It's a great bit of irony. smile
