Continental GT (2016 onwards) - Key locked in boot - help

Hi all,
A friend needs some help with a 2016 CGT V8s - he was having some issues with his boot not closing and the car went in to HR Owen London to be looked it. Upon return he went to the Gym and kept his jacket in the boot of the car and closed the boot - by doing this he managed to lock the car keys inside the boot.
He is 100% sure that the car would not previously lock if the key was inside the vehicle but can't be sure.
Would someone be able to check this for him please? Yes, I am asking you to keep your key in the boot and close it to see if the car can lock itself with the keys inside - hopefully you have a spare key!
