Felt the full power of a Bentley continental today. Came out of nowhere, straight up my dad's cars arse.
Couldnt here it much, but boy it seemed powerful. Bloke was a bit of a tosser though as he tried to undertake us on a dual carriageway with very little gaps between the cars on the inside (hence we did not pull in).
In reply to the post that people hate them, I can't see what they see, as you get a huge amount of power for good money, so they get my vote from this rude but exciting encounter.

Looked second only to the SRT10 ram in aggresion levels and that is saying something. I imagine in black, it would look like the grim reaper trying to run you over.

No it was more of a pale light metalic sky blue (close as I can get).
Funny thing was mr vette we were in a vette to. After this encounter we are now even more ready to purchase a C6 ZO6 as more power is needed. Bentley is 2 tonnes and packs 552BHP? but corvette ways less than a f430 and packs 511BHP and is naturally aspirated. No chance of undertaking now.

Quiet residential street, middle of the night, then all hell breaks loose.
Jokes aside, it would be good to see a comparison.
What do you think sounds better, your vette or you bentley? Must ask as could not hear it at all over the billy boats.

The Bentley sounds cack, a bunch of us were at the PH Starkholmes meet last night, stood outside the chippy and a new black GTC came past, driver saw us and the assortment of cars and floored it. The W12 was just a noise, nothing nice to it. I have heard that the aftermarket exhaust tuners havent been able to do anything with it either.

I love the look of the GTC though, for once a roof chop that looks better than the original coupe.

Pity, as I always love to hear a Bentley. Do the turbos muffle the sound slightly, as I've heard that in the C5 the burbling V8 soundtrack can be changed quite dramatically by the fitting of them.

i disagree, the bentley sounds awesome you just have to know how to extract the sound, it took me a few days to master it though,

i will have to post a vid or 2 up to see if i can change some minds!

Ye it will be good to hear it.
Did one go to the festival of speed as I can't remeber even though I've been the last 4 years?

hi folks , just been reading all your comments about the GT exhaust noise\ note levels, i work for bentley motors in crewe and i fully agree with u all, the GT is very understated in the exhaust note dept. i have just been to pick up my Ferrari 308 GTS from amari supercars in preston, they have a GT in there for sale and it is fitted with an aftermarket set of back boxe's WOW u should hear it, now thats how they should sound, it's like a formula one, but i have to say our companty have to cater for the majority of customers who prefer their cars to sound , shall we say more subtle !! so if you have a GT and u ant to get noticed, get the two rear boxes replaced, u WILL get noticed, take care,, Ray.

I don't particularly like the exhaust note. I find the Spur note nicer than the GT/C, probably due to extra plumbing. The Speed sounds great in sport mode. I've heard an aftermarket GT exhaust and hated it. It was just as boomy but 10 times louder! Didn't suit the car IMO. Certain cars get away with being shouty, but Crewe built cars can't.

Hi mate - where does one buy or how to get ahold of some new boxes? Does the whole process cost much?

sorry, dont know where to get the replacement rear boxe's but i have seen a couple of GT's with them fitted, might be an idea to give amari a ring, ask for richard, tell him ray who bought the 308 said to ring and ask him if he can put you in contact with the previous owner of the GT with the boxe's fitted, or he may know where you could get some from, phone no is 01772663777, good luck, Ray.
