Ok had the GT now six months, absolutely love it. Been a excellent car without doubt. Where do I go next, GTC or GT Speed. Has anyone done this move. Is there a massive characteristic difference on the Speed.

If you really want a different driving experience, I guess it's either a GTC or the new SuperSports. I'd go for the latter...

I've been driving a Spur Speed all day without realizing it. Only when I saw the kickplates did the penny drop. Read from that what you will. After I twigged I gave it more thought and yes it is a bit faster, louder, and more taught.

Speed is measureably different over the standard GT it seems.

Dunno about that. I've had the Speed Spur a few days now and have the following comparison with my 06 standard car.

The Looks are too subtle from the outside. I think there should be a bit of a difference between the two, apart from the wheels and exhaust ovals. Inside is basically Mulliner spec which you can add to a regular model anyway. The smaller steering wheel does make the car feel more chuckable though.

The ride is very good considering the performance brief. They say some of the 'give' has been removed compared to standard, but it is far from unacceptable.

The most obvious change is in the engine room. The performance of the Speed is incredible. The engine is silky smooth as is the 09 standard car, but revs more freely. Having said that however, I have never felt short changed in the oomph department with 'only' 552 horses. The funniest thing about it though is when you put it in Sport mode. It must do something in the exhaust because the thumps from the exhaust on overrun sound like heavy artillery at 2 miles. Out of kilter with the Spur intended purpose but fun anyway. The perfect vehicle is the GTC Speed, and if I wasn't a chauffeur I'd have one of those.

Like I said before, if you took the Speed kick plates off I bet no-one would be able to tell.

Wanted a change and had my GTC converted by Linden Special Vehicles. Sports exhaust, body enhancements and new wheels. Feels more sporty, but the look is outstanding. Saw their work first in a Bentley showroom, thought it was an official Bentley model it looked so good. I put up a photo but don’t know how.

The postings regarding degrees of difference between Conti GT, Speed and Super Sport is interesting. Bentley have limited exterior visual changes to the 'plastic' bumper mouldings and different wheels. The 'tuner' firms are certainly more extreme with their treatments. Matt black and pink have figured in their equally OTT customisation paint jobs.

Bentley need to keep their approach tasteful but distinct to set their 'sporty' models apart. Mulliner treatment is OK but would wild colours and body stripes ala Lamborghini (also part of Audi/VW and not exactly lacking in visual impact) - think Gallardo Superleggera or family newcomer Porsche GT3RS jazzy colours and stripes give the already perfect Conti GT bodyshape a boost or put them with the 'Tuners'?

On a recent trip to France and at Cholmondely Hill Climb I have seen the pre-production Supersport in it's awful 'battleship grey' livery and was of the same opinion as other posters that it does need an extra something...
