anyone own a 04 / 05 / 06 conti gt ?
thinking of changing to one next year looking for some real world ownership advice, realistically its not going to have warranty due to age etc looking at £40k - £55k
are they as reliable as there big owners ?
i loved the rs6 so presume this will be a big fast cruiser too
i presume a lot of parts are vw audi parts so as long as you can match the part numbers up parts will be ok priced.
yearly service i presume wont be silly 1k - 1.5k ?
any major problems to look out for?

Had a 55 plate GT
Was a lovely car, but did have a few small issues which are the usual teething problems that are known about.
Coil Packs failed, changed under warranty
Tyre Sensors once, again changed under warranty
There are still cars out there under warranty IMO i would pay that bit more for a car with and A or B Bentley Warranty on it

so it seems the early ones have the same sort of problems.
coil packs are easy to change so really only purchase cost if wrong, tyre sensors may be a bit different story.
apart from routine servicing hopefully shouldnt have any major problems, i presume they are more VAG than Bentley.

From an 2004/54 owner:
We, as a family, have had this car from new, originally had every box ticked, full Mulliner spec, in Tempest Silver with tobacco tan leather and walnut. It really is a beautiful car, but with 2 S Class's, a Ferrari and Range Rover amongst a few to mention keeping it company, it rarley gets used, to the point the rear seats have NEVER been sat in. As of 12/09 it has just over 12k on it had those have been care free miles, regular Bentley servicing from Jack Backlay and HR Owen in acton ensure nothing has EVER gone wrong.
Recent costs include 4 new tyres, round it up to 1k, x2 tyre pressure sensors from VW for £30 each, fitted at the same time as tyres, bargain.
Bentley contacted us and asked to take the car to do this recall, they did it and brought the car back, no cost. I find the car, overall, to be a joy, however lack of use and massive depreciation already taken place, it is time to sell. This car really is perfect, I say, wether you are half interested in mine or not, go ahead and get one, they are amazing.

Hi I have just spoken to my Bentley dealer and your right,mine are being replaced tomorrow although they show no sign of any fault,also they are replacing the fuel filter which is another recall (or service campaign as they call them) B16JUS said:

Can't really see them at less than 25k for a proper one imo. Right miles colour etc. Mind a new starter motor is £8500 fitted if i'm right. So cars over the 7 year warrantable period may be a different kettle of fish without the Bentley extended warranty.10 years old @ 20k ?
