Leak by Passenger door speaker

A friend of mine has a 2005 Mini One Convertible and its started to leak as per the above picture. It seems to do it more on cornering which leads me to think its maybe something to do with the window rubbers / storing water in the door but I am no Mini expert. Ive looked at the rubber seals around the window and lubed them up etc they all seem fine - any known issues I should be looking for ? Thanks in advance !
Check the A piller. The piller has a plastic cover. Tap on the A piller you will see. Under the cover is a seal. If the cover is damiged or just as the seal gets older they need replcaing or you will get water at the same point as you are. I had to replcae the cover on my wifes mini for the same problem and noted that the new seal is 2 x the size of the old one (Covers more area). Leak has stopped.
I have a R52 07 plate with exactly the same problem. I found it was the roof drains that lead from the top of the A Pillar down to door bulkhead, inside the door seal. It finishes where it overlaps with the bottom door seal. Crap gets in there over time, causing in heavy rain for the water to trace from the top along the door seal and in at the bottom at the lowest point below the speaker. However, there are actually 3 probable causes.
Door drains: Check your drains in the door for blockages Stick a fine screw driver up the drain to ensure its clear and pull out the 2 rubber bungs on the underside of the door. If water comes out then then your door drains were blocked and when the door gets enough water in it it will trace inside into the cabin.
Roof drains (do this with the roof down!): Get some round electrical cable of the right bore so that you can rod the drain tube and push out the crap. I found satelite cable was perfect as it has a solid wire core. Remeber to trim off with some clippers so that no wire is sticking out else it will catch on the soft rubber. At the top of the A pillar you will find 2 small holes in the rubber seal either side of the top silver roof clamping point. Thread the cable through the road side hole, peal back the rubber and you will see another hole that is the drain that runs down the inside of the door seal. Thread the cable into the second hole and work it down the drain, twisting it as you go. If you meet resistance then pull off the seal from the bottom off the door/cabin seam and work it down till you get to the bottom. If you stick your finger up the open flange at the bottom you should be able to feel the cable end. Remove and repeat. Once done, pull off the door seal that runs across the bottom of the door, and inspect / clean the joints of both seals. Replace the bottom seal, then the A pillar seal with the drain. Close the roof up and flood it with water around the front roof seal and A Pillar for about 10 mins and you should no longer have water ingress into the cabin.
3: A-Pillar gaskets. If still getting water in, then you will need to replace the gaskets behind the A Pillar covers (£24 from Mini for both). To remove the front covers, peal off the door seal that has the roof drain and you will expose some bolt heads. Remove the bolts and then you should be able to push/slide up the A pillar cover and then pull off the cover (4 clips inside the cover that go through the gaskets into the A Pillar). Remove old gaskets, fit new and then replace all you've taken off. Please note - be careful with the little seal that wraps round the top of the A-Pillar from the main roof seal. Dont break the clips else you will be into a whole world of pain!
