New MINI JCW Challenge on the way...
Discussion
Yes the car has featured in EVO 4 times. Once just a paragraph to say it was coming - this was back in March. The following month to say that they were involved and a bit more about the project. The next month they were with the development team, testing the tyres and suspension settings for the car, using the yellow and green development hacks. And then the month after that they road tested it in a feature about fun cars to drive.
I thought the reference above was to something else?

I'm a little confused by this- do you mean EVO has a long-termer they are running? Or do you mean EVO has now done a full road test of the car? Is this in the latest mag? I haven't received mine yet.
Sorry for the delay, got my magazine thursday, they have one on their flast feet. Really short article which basically just says the car is too stiff but then i pulled into a layby wound the suspension back and its not as stiff. Expected more but then i guess they may of only had it day or so before deadline day.
Yes we should sort out a track day - having a load of identical cars on track would be awesome!
Have to say I'm somewhat irritated by Dan Prosser's ramblings in the latest EVO.
So he gets given a car that he had a part in setting the road suspension on and the first thing he does is complain that it's overly firm for everyday use and then softens the dampers? Why didn't he recommend softer settings for everyday use in the first place?
Even whilst I was reading that originally I was thinking when I get mine I'll soften to 1 on the front and 6 on the rear. It's kind of obvious that for everyday use, you'd go for the most comfortable settings and then as aggressive as possible on track.
Then having said in the mag that he was happy he chose the most aggressive settings for road and track he then blames Bovingdon for having gone too firm - not impressed!

No discount as they are exclusive but the pay did drop £500 off the TLC, Gap, Car protection etc package plus 4% rather than 6.9% - probably paying cash so not really an upside.I have spoken to him before about them, and he did not know anything about them! that was back in April.

Interestingly the base price is £26k (3k more than standard) so pretty good value one against the other.

Sorry just wanted to confirm I'm assuming that you're saying that you got an Apr of 4%? I'm finalising my hp agreement tomorrow and want to get the best deal.
