The car is a genuine 2003 R53 Mini John Cooper Works.

I believe its 207BHP but not sure.

Thanks

197bhp if it's one of the first JCWs - possibly upgraded to 210bhp when the airbox and new injectors were added to the kit in 2004

Thanks.

Interesting as this is an early 2003 car which had the 'Cooper Works Kit' fitted by supplying dealer when new. As they all did.

It then had 'JCW Works Upgrade Kit' fitted by same dealer in late 2004. So I presume it is 210 BHP? Interestingly it also had 'JCW Damper Kit' and front and rear 'Mini Sport Suspension' fitted at the same time.

So 210BHP I think?

Easy way to tell is if the airbox has a JCW logo, and the fuel injectors have blue bits IIRC - the standard ones have beige bits. Might be hard to see under the intercooler. These bits were part of the change of the kit in 2004 from 197 to 210bhp. My car was built in Dec 2004 (170bhp at the factory), and the JCW kit was fitted by the dealer at the PDI to give 210bhp.

The JCW suspension came as a complete kit of springs (red) and dampers (again with JCW logo - should be visible). Much more comfortable and controlled than stock, and a 10mm drop.

Don't think the suspension kit came as 2 distinct parts

Mines a 52 plate and has the jcw branded airbox and blue injectors and 11% pulley, always thought it was the 200bhp model but not sure.

11% pulley, head, exhaust, intercooler cover and remap were always part of the JCW kit

Two possible options for your car:
- It's the 197bhp model that went back in for the 210bhp upgrades when they were made available
- The JCW kit was fitted to your car after mid-2004 when the 197bhp kit was superseded by the 210bhp kit

Thanks for info, so mines the 210bhp then, that's a bonus smile
