Factory JCW or Cooper S with Body Kit?

The car is a 2007 and the elderly owners says, and I think believes, it is a factory JCW.

But if you put its reg into Autotrader it says Cooper S. I tried another 2007 JCW and it says JCW.

What should it say on the V5?

How else can one tell?

Can BMW tell from the Reg or VIN number?

Engraved exhaust pipes IIRC mean it's the dealer-fit kit on a Cooper S. Also side scuttles (if still standard) will have the red S logo. JCW Brembo brakes as well on the JCW, not standard grey calipers.

Don't think the factory JCW came out until 2008. As the JCW kit was dealer-fit on the S, the V5 will show standard factory Cooper S bhp (in kW or whatever) in the power section. The JCW proper was a factory model so should show the relevant power - the S was about 175bhp, the JCW 208bhp I think
