MINI R56 Cooper S - info on 16" wheels

Hi all, I have a 60 plate MCS, away to do the change from 17” to 16”. I’ve bought the same wheels as above (used).
Small query, it has TPMS and big screen central display. I assume the car will throw a pressure warning when I switch wheels?
Will I need to get TPMS switched off via diagnostics? I don’t care about having the feature. Just don’t want it complaining everyday..

t system anyway cos on my old wheels one had a slow puncture and it still never sent off even at 5psi or whatever!
As per above - mine was fine as uses ABS (or something) sensors rather than actual sensors in the wheels.
Discussion point re 16" wheels on MINIs: what affect do you think they have on resale value of the car compared to 17"?
I ask because I sold my 17" to fund the purchase of my 16", so when I sold my MINI it went with the smaller wheels. I traded it in at an independent garage who wasn't bothered about the wheel size, but I did notice afterwards that it took him almost 8 months to sell my old MINI... I can only assume the 16" may have put the majority of potential buyers off? Otherwise the car was a good example with Chili pack, heated front seats, just serviced and MOTd, low miles and 2 owners inc me. My father-in-law who works in the car trade was of that opinion, but I was unsure what to think.
Unsure if it's worth stashing the original 17"s away for resale time, if you have the space, rather than selling them on.

16" 17" no-one cares less as long as the wheels don't look cr@p.
It will have had nothing at all to do with that, I would bet less than 10% of sellers know the size of their wheels (unless they have bought tyres recently) and I would bet much less than 10% even look at the size before buying.
The only way it would make any difference would be if you were buying a specific model that was only sold with 1 pattern of wheel & even then most wouldn't actually realise that.
I bought an r53 a couple of years ago & not one seller actually knew the spec of the car they owned, thankfully there is a "mini vin checker" online.

When searching recently to buy an N18 MCS, I was actually looking for 16” as a preference (none were available).
Slowly people are realising that large wheels are optioned mainly for aesthetics. Many modern cars are comprimised by them.
My 997.2 was a noticeably better car once changed to smaller 18” wheels for example.

Glad I'm not alone in thinking 16" works better on the MINI. had a disagreement with my father-in-law who didn't want to take a part in selling my MINI via one of his trade friends purely because he thought it'd struggle to sell on 16" wheels. But then he's always right 
Shame that my current car has 19" as standard and they're very heavy wheels. I've dropped to 18" for winters and they don't look out of place, but clearance on the front calipers is tight. The 19" wheel style is a lot nicer though.
