Browsing the official used Mini site the other week I came across a Challenge with 21 miles on the clock. After ringing them to confirm it actually was a Challenge and they knew what it was I booked a test drive. I was going to be the first person to drive it properly ! Asked for the nitrons to be set at the softest all round so I knew what the best case ride for comfort would be. EVO mag was so negative about it at the end of their test (even though they helped with the set up) I was very curious how bad it could be.

Was pleasantly surprised and had a brilliant 40 minute blast on every type of road. What a crazy fast and capable grin inducing machine. While very firm it does not crash and bang like other stiff set ups I’ve had. The steering was still not as feel-some as my R56 but a lot better than the standard F56 and I’m sure with a little play of the set up it could be improved...

Anyway long story short I’m now the owner of No. 36! Can’t wait to start fiddling with the Nitrons.

Brilliant! How many of these did they make in the end, was it 100? Can't say I've seen a single one yet.

Did they give you the other set of wheels that came with it?

Nice, I must admit I thought they were delivered on the TD wheels.

Didn't realise they only made 52, makes it by quite some margin the rarest production MINI made.

Enjoy it thumbup

Thanks

GiveItSomeWellie those are the Team Dynamics wheels on it. The spares are standard Mini "17 though I don't know what tyres are on them.

I must say the Cup 2 tyres are a lot better than I thought they would be in damp 2 degree weather!!! biglaughbiglaughbiglaugh

Really good find; I like the subtlety compared to the over-enthusiastic application of decals on the GP2.
Softest setting for road work is probably a good idea.
