There's something about having powerful brakes on a smaller lighter car. Braking from any speed is effortless thumbup and if you have mechanical sympathy you don't feel like bad for the wear and tear components of the car.

Unfortunately the car is up for sale because i bought an E46 M3 a couple of months ago. Its a shame because i'm not sure the next owner will appreciate the brakes unless an enthusiast. They took a bit of effort to get on as i had to source the JCW versions of the track spoke wheels to clear the calipers

Had a JCW exhaust fitted to my Cooper S.

Not the Pro one, but the standard JCW one, taken off a delivery miles car, presumably displaced by an upgrade to a Pro.

Gives a much deeper and fruitier exhaust note and much more distinct popping on overrun.

Didnt cost a fortune to do, relatively speaking. Well pleased with the results driving

I’ve drained some more water out from under the carpet and bought a parrot installation kit for £4 to fit to the original stereo.
The parrot Bluetooth was free as I took that out of a scrap Peugeot.

Thanks. smile

Lots of fruity popping now on the overrun and the exhaust just sounds more deep and meaningful without being Look At ME!

Well pleased.

Would love to do this to my Cooper S! Did you do it though Mini or buy the exhaust and got it fitted by someone else? Do you mind me asking how much it cost? They are very cheap on EBay!

I rang around my local MINI dealers and asked if they had any JCW exhausts that had been displaced after an upgrade to a JCW Pro exhaust and they said they didnt and that if they did BMW MINI wouldnt allow them to be sold to the general public anyway. I have heard people say they have been able to get them through their dealers this way but i wasnt that lucky.

It seems the MINI specialist i got mine off had 5 which suggests he bought a job lot of them from one of those MINI dealers.

I had to buy local as they are practically unpostable and i am in Northern Ireland and most are on the mainland. There are definitely some on ebay and if i were you i'd check there for one close ish to you and also post on your local MINI facebook group (which is how i heard about my local bloke).

They can be got second hand for £150-£200 on ebay but perhaps with an unconfirmed history in terms of use. These were guaranteed taken off delivery miles cars and as i said i'd no choice but to buy locally here in NI and the non negotiable asking price was £300+ £20 to fit. Hard to negotiate when he had 5 and by the time i got to him he was down to 2. BUT worth every penny as far as i am concerned. cloud9

Hi everyone, quick question:

I recently ordered this :

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2...

From Cotswold Mini for my 2018 facelift Cooper S, I got an email telling me it won’t fit on my car so they cancelled the order. Could someone confirm either way or suggest a decent alternative, I want to stay OEM as much as possible so the JCW pro was perfect for me.

I believe the mounting is different on the LCI cars. I think aftermarket is your only choice.

LCI runs a GPF (petrol filter) and Mini won't supply a JCW pro exhaust to any Mini registered after November 2016.

The standard JCW exhaust (that would be displaced if someone is fitting one of the above to a JCW) is what we fitted. Relatively easily and cheaply picked up (ours was brand new, taken off a new JCW), cheap to buy and makes a significant difference. Nice meaty thrum off it when driving, a noticable increase in note when accelerating, and satisfying pops and burbles on the overrun without being overbearing.

No problem at all fitting one to our Feb '18 Cooper S. You should be able to get one bought and fitted for around £300 ish, as opposed to maybe £1500 for an aftermarket "upgrade".

Bummer. Okay I’ll seek out a regular JCW exhaust then.

What confused me was whether they were saying they don’t physically fit/work, or that they just won’t supply one.

Thanks, it is indeed very lively & corners "like a housefly" too as it is a track day modified car, great fun to drive.
