Slightly boring question to GP owners posting on here ... what tyres are people running on their cars? running PS4s on the front and they seem to have a fair chunk of grip.

Didn't see point in spending another £100+ quid more a tyre for the ecstas.

Route planning continues and I’m pursuing a couple of people within Mini to see if we can score access to somewhere good for a photo at Cowley. Fingers crossed.

Unfortunately, we’ve had a couple of drop-outs but the will is still strong laugh

I've tried michelin PSS, have gone back to the ecstas again, but after having got about 5k miles out of this set, my mrs is nudging me towards going for something a bit longer lasting. I will mourn them all the same as once warm they are obscene. I've been getting my Kumho's off the net for between £80-110 per corner. Have a hunt around, I've seen the Kumho advertised for ridiculous money on some sites. Best deal I got was last year, got a full set for £240 delivered!

How the hell you managed that I don't know - MPSS would've been circa 550-600 a set fitted at my local!

Anybody else have this problem? frown(( just noticed it as moving out and needed a clean etc and my go badge has somehow started to peel (looked like a hefty wasp was burrowed underneath at the edge)

I am on bonnet sticker number 2 and when I feel like forking out I'll be moving onto number 3 in 3 years! I had the exact same thing happen to mine, it fell apart pretty quickly once it started lifting like that, that they do get very hot.

I'm looking forward to the 1st July, the dates haven't changed I hope!

Thankfully, my bonnet has PPF which prevents stonechips but has the added benefit of keeping the stickers stuck.

If I ever have to change the PPF though... lots of expensive stickers have to be changed too laugh

We're still definitely on for the 1st. Had a few of the original 10 flake out but that's par-for-the-course. If we can get five on the day i'll be happy!

Interesting you should say this... I have a feeling mine might need doing - can you explain the process/noise that led you to this? My nearside front is making a funny noise at low speed and is a little unsettled?

With mine, and others I’ve spoken to, it seems it’s nearly always the same.

A clonking/knocking on very low speed bumps (like gently going over a speed bump) especially when turning at the same time but only after 30 minutes driving when the shock is really warm, which makes it a pain to recreate.

The clonking/knocking gets worse over time, but it always takes the 30 minutes before it does it.

I only noticed it on Saturday. Lohen did mention there was a slight knock upon collection of the car (Wednesday). I really wished they had called me as I would've paid to have them fix it there and then.

Anyway during my drive on Saturday. I pulled into an off-road car park, which was a little bumpy.... Was probably doing no more than 3/4 mph when I could hear this knocking sound.

Mine too is making "the sound" off side front though, the damper was apparently checked last time it was at mini and it was deemed "fine" mechanic mate of mine sat in it and thought rattly lower suspension mount. I'm not so sure, I've had these bilsteins on for about 2 years now after the first set were replaced and they made a very similar sound when they conceeded they were shagged, I think they are just desperately trying to not have to buy yet another set of coilovers. I offered to have them removed from the warranty if they contributed the replacement cost to something a bit beefier. I think I'll stick on some ohlins next year : )

I'm also the nutter thinking of sticking a quaife sequential on (I do know the price) as I have issues with my clutch leg! Watch this space!

Do we have a meeting point decided yet? I'm probably going to be leaving from oxshott area now on sunday. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Matt, I've sent you a couple of DMs to try to get your email address but don't think I've had a response. I won't be able to get you the route details for you to join us if you don't send me something?

I'll be dropping out an email shortly to confirm attendees, but route-wise I'm thinking:

Main route (for everyone): We meet at the Cowley plant first thing (it's an easy location to get to, and to find), then do a loop out to the cheltenham racecourse, then north east towards Banbury, then south back to Cowley.

Extra options (for those near Reading or who pass through the area to get to Oxford): Reading to Cowley cross-country, do the loop with everyone, then Cowley back to Reading cross country again.

Does that work for everyone?
