Mine too is making "the sound" off side front though, the damper was apparently checked last time it was at mini and it was deemed "fine" mechanic mate of mine sat in it and thought rattly lower suspension mount. I'm not so sure, I've had these bilsteins on for about 2 years now after the first set were replaced and they made a very similar sound when they conceeded they were shagged, I think they are just desperately trying to not have to buy yet another set of coilovers. I offered to have them removed from the warranty if they contributed the replacement cost to something a bit beefier. I think I'll stick on some ohlins next year : )

I'm also the nutter thinking of sticking a quaife sequential on (I do know the price) as I have issues with my clutch leg! Watch this space!

Do we have a meeting point decided yet? I'm probably going to be leaving from oxshott area now on sunday. Looking forward to meeting you all.
So you're still using it whilst it's knocking?

I need to arrange a time to head to Lohen. Won't bother going to Mini.

I used mine for quite a while when it was knocking - one of those situations where I could feel it but had to wait for it to get worse before anyone else could, in order to get it diagnosed and fixed.

Everyone (even those who’ve dropped out) should now have an email from me with the basic route.

For those that are coming, I’ll shortly be sending out a link which includes the following navigational aids. I know it’s a convoy but I also know the paranoia of potentially getting lost or separated!

I’ll be sharing the following to hopefully accommodate everyone:

1. A Google My Maps link (showing route and waypoints)
2. A Google Maps navigation link (open this on your mobile and it should put the waypoints into Google Maps app allowing you to navigate directly from your phone).
3. A text list of waypoints that you can type into your nav app of choice
4. A KML file you can load into your sat nav device

If you still get lost with all that, Magellan himself couldn’t help you wink

I'm thinking the meet at Cowley will be 7am? The loop then gets us back to Cowley again about 9:30/10 depending on how many times we stop and for how long.

Ok.

I should know on Friday whether I'll definitely be able to make or not.

Sorry I take that back. Lohen have just confirmed they can't sort my car out this Friday.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make this.

Excellent. Really looking forward to this now.

To get in the mood for Sunday, will be taking the GP2 to work tomorrow ready for a drive home the very long way round while the football is on. biggrin

I have no choice, but I'm kind of driving through the problem as the dealership have said on three recent trips that nothing is wrong with them. Last week I sent them a video of the noise coming from the front which they have agreed is an issue that needs attention, I still have my warranty so I'm going to get another set of bilsteins if I can before I chuck them out altogether. The car is fine to drive, you just get vibration at certain speeds that comes and goes and it is noisy as anything coming down my little road to park up everyday, it sounds like a scaffold truck.

Same boat as me - daily driver. had a few conversations with GP2 owners... common noise, quite a few switch to KW when the bill steins finally give up the ghost. Apparently engine mounts as soft as butter which is what can make a racket too!

On the subject of dampers, ours are knocking again. According to Lohen, Mini 1320 & Mini there is no problem to continue driving.
Decided to fit KW,, but Mini are fitting a new set under good will so will wait until they go again in approx 14k miles.

Thanks Tom for organising, and for getting us into the plant at the end.

Great to meet you and the others, and spend the morning blasting around the countryside in these awesome little cars.

As I said, I'm happy to arrange the next one down this way (West Sussex) if people want. Would probably be looking at the end of September. Think if you liked Fish Hill, you'd enjoy Bury Hill. biggrin
