Mini GP3 lost its way?

I think that because the base shape is so challenging to look at...it is very difficult to make it look purposeful when it is already a daft looking car for me
I though the same, but then I saw the F56 Challenge Race cars. Have you seen them? Same underlying car but DAMN they look good. Bigger arches, big front spoiler, big rear spoiler, massive diffuser, bunch of rake, no stupid plastic pi$$flaps on the side. It’s a simple recipe!I’ll be keeping my GP2 over this, that’s for certain. Unless this drives up the value of GP2s!

Just catching up having seen the pics without the camo - abominable. It is without question *much* worse than I even anticipated without the camo.
Even it was available with a manual, I couldn't spend £40k on something that looked like that. The plastic pi$$ flaps are really err, taking the pi$$ as already commented - they aren't even painted. The red bits looks Max Power. I don't think my opinion will change when I see one in the plastic.
£40k will get you an achingly beautiful Lotus Elise instead and you won't need to wear a brown paper bag over your head. Marginally easier on the eye :-
All subjective of course. There will be the odd pi$$ flap connoisseur out there and this will float their boat (though you really should seek help ).

The GP is normally a final year run-out special for a model generation, but been reading about the next gen MINI and it looks like they are holding off to see if full electrification is the way forward. In which case the F56 is likely to get a few more years of manufacture, so we may yet see another facelift and revamp rather than a whole new model.
So maybe at least there will be a revised Cooper S and JCW 3 door with a bit more power to keep sales alive for the early 2020s.
More drip drip news...

35k does sound reasonable but i just want to see the finished thing!

Is that the ring lap time moulded into the dash? If so, it’s utter cheese!
Looks wise, it’s just an awkward looking thing, dumpy with a badly fitting skirt. Somehow it just looks like it was designed in Germany - I know that ain’t make much sense.
I believe a mullet hair cut is still a thing over there ....Looks wise, it’s just an awkward looking thing, dumpy with a badly fitting skirt. Somehow it just looks like it was designed in Germany - I know that ain’t make much sense.
Agree the lap time on the dash is a weird thing.
Its not a looker for sure......
The concept looked wild, it wasn't pretty but that didn't matter... The production version is watered down enough to lose that wild look without bringing it anywhere near an otherwise complete looking car, it looks like an unfinished project car that's probably going to be horrendous when finished.
