2004 R53, stock when I bought it and now it isn't... I've never driven it yet since I bought it!

Comfiest bucket seats I've ever sat in. Have had other Tilletts in my other cars too, they mould around you so nicely.

That is a really nice one. Have you done much to it? Brakes look beefed up.

I had those wheels on my R53 (Electric Blue Cooper S) - lovely but corroded really badly from stone chips under the lacquer which was a real pain! Should never have sold that car and would have it back - if anyone knows where SO03 HKH is let me know!

Thanks all, I haven't had it long , I'm very grateful to the previous owners for taking such care over this, from what I know R56 big brake conversion, lowered, poly bushed ,17% pulley
I fully intend to keep this in the best condition I can, drives like a new car !

Had a few hours this afternoon fitting dash cam, giving it a general once over and a bit of a wash and a polish.

Really happy with the car, I'm finding myself wanting to steal it and leave my 1 series at home but the Mrs isn't having any of it smile
And it's now going.....

Been absolutely faultless and a great car but the wife's just got an Evoque so the Mini is getting picked up on Wednesday.

Only ever needed tyres and other routine services etc. Sad to see if go to be honest!
I am really pleased for you that your car was faultless....but the timing chain went on mine and wrote the engine off, despite a main dealer service history when required frown I got £350 scrap for it

Bit of a positive update to start the day.

On Tuesday, my sons new car arrived. Still not fully resolved the insurance, waiting for the refund on his excess.

Managed to find another R56 Cooper with the aero kit

And the bonus is this one has lower miles, in his preferred colour and in even better shape than his first one.

Never ventured in here before now, but after having just added this to the garage, I thought I'd pop by and say hello.

Mrs has had a hankering for a JCW for as long as I can remember, so she's one happy bunny at the moment !

I think to lose some more weight you should seriously remove the tag from the key smile

I had the privilege of owning GP2 1,791 from May 2021 to May 2022. I covered about 10,000 miles including the NC500. Brilliant car. Only sold it when I changed jobs and the company policy was for cars with 4 seats under 6 years old.

Happily, I think it’s now in good hands with another enthusiast.

It is indeed, met up with him recently after we found ourselves in a random GP convoy on the M23.

So after owning this 200 bhp R53 in 2020...

...and then a couple of Boxsters and an MX5 BBR in-between, I've now come full circle, and now own this F56 JCW. Only mods are spacers and a K&N Typhoon. It's got the JCW Pro exhaust and Pano roof. I absolutely love it. Much more than I ever expected to. I can't think of a car that better suits my current needs and lifestyle, while also being silly fun to drive when in the mood. Still waiting for a dry day to see what it can really do, but to be fair, I think it copes well even in crap weather for a FWD car.

Believe it or not I think I prefer it to the R53, supercharger whine apart, it sounds better, and it's much more comfortable and just a nicer car. Even though it's probably 10% more powerful and 10% heavier, it feels a lot quicker too.

Not sure if I will mod yet, but if I do, maybe a remap - one that is fairly safe/conservative, as it's pretty quick anyway, and an LSD, not sure yet. Would have to be sure it would make a big difference, not super convinced just yet having owned FWDs with LSDs before (R53, DC2), as this has a torque vectoring system anyway, and traction was always still an issue in crappy conditions in those cars as well to be fair.

Suspension wise I reckon I'll keep it stock, I quite like having some travel in the suspension for road driving, and have no interest in shaking my fillings out, I often find slightly "softer" cars can go down a rough road faster too, but thicker roll bars and bracing have been suggested to reduce roll / understeer. Will have to research more to decide what to do.

Always happy to hear the opinions of those who have done the mods though so if you have any experience of this then let me know, but so far it seems a really good compromise for road driving all round really.

Sorry for waffling hehe
