I also cancelled a couple of months ago for various reasons...however dealer called to say their first car was now available if i had a change of mind! TGE has one, but in current environment wont be able to drive it.
TGE did a Gp2 V’s Gp3 you tube thing recently, talk about click bait the car involvement was absolutely minimal he just proceeded to ramble on about Covid 19 and the stock markets. Truly woeful!

I think big discounts will be available to all!
If any is hesitant about taking delivery I’d say don’t be I’ve put 3-400 miles on mine and it’s an absolute blast, well worth the Money.
Yes big discount for all, but I do think the key workers nhs etc are a good promotional tool for all business especially if this virus hangs round , I don’t think it will simply disappear If any is hesitant about taking delivery I’d say don’t be I’ve put 3-400 miles on mine and it’s an absolute blast, well worth the Money.
I'm not in the market for a GP3 but considered a GP2 and there were a few unsold ones after the initial registrations that were dealer registered and sold on as ex-demo/pre-reg with healthy discounts. I'm imagining that after an initial round of discounts on unsold cars this could well be the route for the GP3. It's tough timing to launch a very individual LE with a limited audience but MINI won't be alone in working out ways to shift these through finance offers and other discounts. Were it me I'd be cancelling a pre-ordered car and waiting to see what happened.

2 weeks ago I was offered just over 3k off a touring pack car. Discounts will arrive. Bit like the M2 sold out for half a year even selling at a premium. Then the unsold units arrived and discounts became common.
Not sure why MINI went for 3000 units when GP2 struggled to sell 2k. Had to reallocate unsold Japanese cars to UK

I can't think of a car a dealer would like to have less in stock (or rapidly incoming) than a cancelled order, highly priced, quirky, hardcore version of a standard model right now regardless of brand. And at £600+/month on a PCP it's a "things are going well indulgence" and not a "the business I work for, and my job are barely hanging on" purchase. Literally everything is going to be discounted in the short-term to try and get some cash flowing - MINI has just been unlucky that they don't have time for things to pick up before GP3s are in stock. I bought a used Boxster in early 2009 after the 2008 "crash", ran it for 2 years and made £2000 profit selling it with an extra 14000 miles on. Prices bounce back but in the short-term this is not going to be exclusive nor desirable enough to stop prices/PCP monthlies coming tumbling down IMO.

Didn’t think thy would be knocking off that much , 3 k is a great saving however 2k to get air con, aka touring pack was over the top.Discounts will arrive. Bit like the M2 sold out for half a year even selling at a premium. Then the unsold units arrived and discounts became common.

Had an email exchange yesterday with a Mini dealer and I can have a GP3 if it want one. No discussion on price, just that there are some going to be available. It will be at least 2 weeks until they know more.
I don’t think I’ll bother still, I have a standard JCW on order which works out £12k cheaper at current prices and has options like HUD and HK stereo on it that I can’t get on a GP3. But time will tell, for the right price I’d be interested, but it would have to be significantly discounted.

There are always detractors with every new model and that's fair enough its all a matter of opinion but if it actually came down to common sense we would all be driving a mini one with no options.
The Gp3 is the latest and greatest as far as the manufacturer is concerned and so far it's seems to live up to the hype for me anyway. Unfortunately for the manufacturer tho it seems like there timing couldn't have been any worse. All cars are going to be discounted in the near future its all about supply and demand. My message is if you have the cash fill your boots, because it wont last for ever.
