At last!
Yesterday I picked mine up from Eastern Mini here in Edinburgh.
Well worth the wait! The looks are spot on, inside the cabin is a cracking place to be and the brakes are sensational.
I’ve had the current JCW with a stage one tune which in itself was impressive. The regular JCW is still a great car for everyday and occasional track use.
I’ve only done 80 very careful miles but it feels well sorted and I think will bring a lot of joy.
I ticked the touring option but must have missed the “add suspension” option as it’s bloody hard on our terrible Edinburgh roads.
Despite running it in and keeping under 4000rpm by short changing the gears it still makes great progress and gives you lots of confidence in the corners. Be aware you’ll be going much faster than you think as it’s fairly quiet so far.
It gets even better once in sport mode, everything just sharpens up and the fun begins.
Hope to get it on track soon. Sadly it’s delay meant I missed the Destination Nurburgring May event but perhaps a trip to Oulton Park or Knockhill will avoid 14 days quarantine.
So in summary so far so good. For those awaiting theirs be patient you’ll enjoy it when it comes.
All the best and hope you are all safe and well and no doubt desperate to get back on road n track.
Jonathan
PS include a snap of the GP with my good lady at the wheel who also had the first drive home😀
