Autocar tried a GP3 on UK roads and didn't like it:

I think the review has some fair points but to be honest The gp3i is a bit nuts and I for one love it for that alone.
Let’s see how it goes on track!

It does seem quite a marmite car going from the reviews.

I take little stock in what the reviews these days, I remember looking at buying a 996 Gt3 Rs many years ago, too crashy too harsh said the reviews. Try and buy one now they’re supposedly the best thing since sliced bread. Conversely Ferrari 430 scud, fantastic car the media said, I found it a bit disappointing.
Each to they’re own. This car will be sought after there’s no doubt about that!

I agree. Seem to remember the Porsche 964 RS and the BMW E46 M3 CSL we’re also a bit ‘misunderstood’ in a few reviews when they were launched.

For me, this review nails the description of what the car is and isn't (sorry if already shared). I'm not just saying that because they gave it five stars either smile Now I've got one, I can relate to the detail they've gone in to on ride and power delivery, especially the comment about vice like hands.

I have to agree, I was hoping for something that would make the pulse race and it sure does that. Looks is another issue, deffo a marmite car in the looks department.

How is everybody dealing with the stones in the rear arches, I feel MINI need a fix to the issue?

Just cancelled my order and collected one of these instead. I guess time will tell if I’ve done the right thing.
Strangely, on the way up to collect, passing Oxford I noticed 5 GPs on their way to their owners. Look very nice, but I’m happy with my choice in the end.
Funny enough....

Another review stating that the Mini should have 3 pedals. I do wonder if the obsession with autos in performance cars is starting to wear off for some people.

I have the B48 engine in my Cooper S and it does seem to get a lot of stick for being characterless(which I do agree with). It is a very effective engine but it does lack soul for certain.

Do expand on that - it was obvious as soon as the car was revealed that the arches would collect various crud and detritus in the gaps. Plants will probably grow there.

Had a phone call from my dealer saying my car is due with them W/C 20th July, it was originally due start of July so either lockdown did not cause too much delay or quite a few people have pulled out.

I am looking to put the Alcantara steering wheel in from the JCW clubman, as I can see in D3nso's post, any idea on how much that might be?

I paid £670 for the wheel and the carbon handbrake including fitting.

Hi all GP3 owners hope you are enjoying your car. Just wondering if anyone has opted for the Service Plan 15k mile (interim service), MOT after 3rd year with break fluid change and a 30k miles (major service) all for £647 wondering what you think?

Well, I’ve cancelled my GP3 order. It was a tough decision but this was to be my ‘station’ car and as I’m not commuting for the foreseeable I’ve no use for it. I’ve had to SORN a few of my other indulgences due to lack of use.

Seriously tempted by the Megane Trophy R - a proper weapon.

For those with a GP3 delivered or on order, enjoy!

Where did you find details about the service plan? I have looked at the monthly payment service plan and the mini website says it can’t find find one for the GP.
