Collected it this morning, sill not 100% sure I love the wheel arches but hey...
The Drive:
The weather was very wet on the way home so I will reserve final judgement for a few more miles. But no rear wiper will be a pain for daily users in wet climates.
Exhaust note is very bassy on startup and pulling away but is not noticeable when on the move (although my drive home 3000rpm or less), I have yet to drive it hard to see if there are pops and bangs on overrun.
The ride is very firm but it doesn’t crash into all the potholes we have in the UK and imho the ride is much better than my previous Cooper S on runflats.
The steering, it’s very direct and quite heavily weighted - it feels great.
The gearbox, I’ve only used auto so far (48miles covered) but I must say around town it seems lazy. I guess it will ‘learn’ and be more reactive to stronger throttle inputs.
The pace, I’ve only used maybe half throttle and it does fairly pick up and go. Looking forward to putting my foot to the floor soon.
Interior fit and finish is lovely, seems a step up from my 2015 Cooper S.
I tried ‘GP Mode’ briefly - that just seems to change the ESP/DTC mode without changing steering or throttle response.
I don’t think anyone will be disappointed with the way it drives.

Looks better in flesh in this picture than some of the press shots!
Always interested to see what other cars people have in their fleet, and what the appeal of a car like the GP3 is and who it appeals to. Fantastic garage and back catalogue!
I’ve fancied a hot hatch for a while - my GP3 if it arrives will join a few other sporty cars.
Enjoy, I look forward to hearing more when things settle down
