Hi All!

I’ve now owned my Clubman JCW for a few weeks and managed 800 miles in it so far. I’m really happy with it and love driving it, so much fun!

I traded in my Jaguar F Pace S after 2 years and a disappointing 7000 miles (I bought it to replace my old Mercedes C Class which averaged 15k a year but then COVID hit). Really liked the Jaguar but an offer of 0 loss after that time tempted me too much!

My Wife is on to her 5th MINI and I have always enjoyed driving them so good to have 1 for myself at last.

I still haven’t sussed out all the features but driving it has been a lot of fun. Properly quick thing so I’m needing to try and show some restraint!

Some obligatory pics.

They are fun and pretty quick, most people don't know what's happened as you pull away from them.

Excellent. Been looking at these for a few weeks after my wife got a 63 plate Cooper S hatch which is great fun to drive. At the risk of ex-communication more fun more of the time than the B7 RS4 we traded in.
Enjoy the new car.
Which black is it?

Thanks for the replies👍 I know these are a bit marmite but I am really loving it.

Not sure the exact black shade, will see if I can find out.

It has the leather lounge seats which are really comfy rather than the standard sports seats. For me they are a must as a commuter car.

Off out in it again later into the countryside, can’t wait!

Oh joy. 2 weeks of ownership and someone has hit my car and driven off without leaving a note. Scratch and dent on the bonnet which makes me thing a large SUV or truck of some sort. Not the worst but my eyes are drawn to it. Hate how people can do that.

My Countryman JCW was a magnet for dents and dings... way more than any of the other (30+) cars i've owned.

Good choice, I moved to the country , changed from a Macan Turbo to a Clubman JCW due to the size of the roads.

Never looked back, great car , great handling and all the power you need nowadays.

Only option I missed is the electric seats.

Done 12k miles in 18months, faultless ownership.

Enjoy.

I know MINI’s are a marmite brand and Clubman even more so. But I just love it.

Haven’t washed it yet but it’s due both inside and out ASAP.

It does use a lot of fuel but I’m sure that’s my driving style and leaving it constantly in sport mode. If it has rained and I set off with the windows open I get soaked. Can’t think of any other downsides so far.

Current pic attached.

Sorry Mark H I missed your post! Glad you are enjoying it and haven’t regretted downsizing. Agree on the electric seats! My last 3 daily drivers have had them and taken them for granted and now missing them.

This is the 1st car since my Boxster S that I just look for an excuse to drive! Absolutely love it, so much fun!

It is great to hear that you're really enjoying it. thumbup

I had so much fun in my F56 Cooper S and I really miss it for its fun factor. I bet yours is a proper flying machine in comparison to my old one.

Keep enjoying. driving

Apart from getting dripped on when putting the kids in the car another little annoyance is the shiny strip across the dash that causes a flash/reflection when you have the wipers on. I plan to see if I can remove it and wrap it in a matt colour.

They are quick little things. I swear ours feels faster then my M135i, it's just more responsive and feels more punchy. Handles better also.

Hi All and advance merry Christmas!

Car has now done 6k mileage and I still love it! I have though noticed a rattle coming from the engine bay under hard acceleration at 3-4K revs. I’ve checked and nothing seems loose. Performance seems unaffected and oil level is fine. Only started over the past few weeks. I’ve booked it into Mini to check early in the new year. Probably nothing but want to be sure while it’s in warranty.

I'm going to reply to follow as I'm pretty interested in one of these as my next car. I miss my GP2 and want something practical that captures some of the Mini character. Does it work? I'm wary of the added bulk of the size + 4WD.

Have the barn doors ever caused a problem in tight spaces?
