JCW Countryman 2018 v 2019

I’m interested in a JCW Countryman but have a budget of around £30k. That gets a nice low mileage 2018 but that “only” has 231 bhp and an unspectacular 0-60
of 6.7.
The 2019 has 306bhp and much quicker 0-60 but nothing much under £35k.
Can anyone tell me
1. In practice does the 2019 feel that much quicker.
2. Is the 2018 the same engine and hence capable of being tuned to 300 bhp?
