Anyone else ordered one? Last of the manual JCWs allegedly.

I’m seeing as a last chance to get one with all the options so I’ve put a deposit in. I’ve no interest in electric cars nor an auto Mini so it’ll be a keeper along with the others bought in the last year.

seems a very tarty overpriced version of a car you can get second hand for half the price.

i have bought 7 minis of all the variants including my F56 - currently kept an R55 clubby and even i wouldnt get one. 40k!!!

Comparing used at half price isn't really the point. Where do you stop with that?

Anyway, the purpose of the thread was not to continue the long running new v used argument but to see if anyone else was getting one and if so to share experiences. Innocent enough purpose I suppose, and perhaps I should have been ready for the inevitable criticism of my choice of how to spend my hard earned on something I love.

I do not seek to criticise your choice or to undermine it - "tarty" - charming.

Crack-pipe pricing on this special edition, you would have to be a maniac to buy it over alternatives.

The 8sp auto is a better box than the manual.

If you like auto boxes, if you like a manual the opposite is true.

I guess that depends how you quantify ‘better’. The shifting is better in an auto as there’s no human doing it, and an auto appears to accelerate better than a manual. What’s not to like?

The fact that it is an auto. wink

Exactly! Some people like autos and I accept they are better in some cars. However, for me a mini has to be manual and however “good” the auto is it just doesn’t interest me in a mini. I fail to see why there has to be a ‘correct” view on this point as it’s simply a matter of preference.

Anyway, I’m still waiting and looking forward to my new car and the negative comments won’t change that.

I have ordered one. I have a GP3 which is an ok car, but having had a GP2 before, I think that was a much more authentic and fun experience.
I always like a car that not many other people have, or that you can go and buy without a waiting list or invitation- helps with residentials too.
Old school manual Mini with a limited numbered run- how many more opportunities are there going to be like this before we are all being driven around on autopilot in a Tesla or similar? Yawn

Top lurking!
I totally agree. Cars like this just won’t exist soon.

Have you had any news on delivery?

I was told that production was expected to start in September/October but no indication of delivery. The Mini site seems to be more specific now about claiming that this is the last of the manuals. I don't know if there are any left.

Drop me a PM if you are looking to sell the GP3 the wife keeps on at me for one.
She had a GP2 but sold it for a Range Rover Evoque which lost £10k in 10 months …… cry

1to6 is expensive for what is in my humble a make over edition.

Got my 4th JCW hatch on order (Manual of course) will be fitted with AC Schnitzer wheels and suspension
just like my previous JCW which I sold on PH . Ordered Leather seats which I see will not be available on the 4th Generation end of an era.

Dropped my order for the GP in 2020 which I don’t regret after finding out it was Auto only !!
(Yes I’ve driven GP and it’s only OK definitely hindered by the auto)

Manual JCW is hard to beat in real world as a daily get one while you still can future classic for sure.

Does anyone know when the next gen 3 door JCW will be available and what impact that is likely to have on used prices of the F56?
I'm not feeling the love for the new model tbh, but we're yet to see it in JCW trim. Also once it does arrive I'm wondering if they will extend use of the petrol variant to 2035.

No new JCW manuals now save for the 1to6 so they say.

Anyone got a 1to6 or seen one yet? How does it look. From those advertising On auto trader the stripe looks a lot darker than on the publicity shots in may and tbh a bit pointless and crap.

There’s 3 0r 4 unregistered on auto trader at the moment. Got its own model section in the listings as well.
