Sounds like the common clutch fault as said many times. I had this, my clutch and flywheel need to be changed but I did get 20k miles since it started before my clutch went

Mine is doing this and is coming to the end of its warranty in two months. If I ignore it, hardly a problem, what are the consequesnces?

Its a common cooper s fault where the clutch and flywheel skim each other. Solution is a new flywheel and clutch. They keep running for a good 20k miles before they start giving up
