K&N filter - good idea?

I've just fitted a k&n panel filter to my 52reg mini cooper and had it on surrey rolling road and it's now showing 122bhp or 99.7 bhp at the wheels so a fair improvement over standard, and on having a chat to the people at minispeed they had done a comparison with the cold air induction kits and the panels and saw no improvement with the CAI kits

its defo a 571 for a cooper s, just went and looked at the box in the garage along with the receipt. It was from mini sport ltd.

I am also gonna call the dealer to see if it will void the warrenty just in case cause the car has been in 20 times in the last year for problems so dont want to take the risk

when you get it fitted will you let me know because i would like to know if there is any difference.

Id look at either Pannel filter or the likes of mini manias airbox i got better results from these than an induction kit on my cooper as the induction kit is tucked away behind the front pannel so dosent always get the coolest of air

yeah no probs, dont know when ill be putting it on though
