Ment to be recieving my new cooper s on january 14th and the dealership have told me that they have all been put back by at least a week. This was obviously due to this shut gap issue. Has anyone recieved theirs yet? or is everyone pretty much in the same boat?

It's not a shut gap issue. 3,000 MCS's were held from early December because their high pressure fuel pumps were leaking. The backlog was finally cleared around midnight 1st Jan and MCS's have been slowly finding their way from the local distribution points to the Dealerships. Mine was built 8th Dec for delivery the following week, I still haven't got it.

Mine is due for second week in January, which is next week. Not heard it has been put back but not really expecting to see it til February! Don't really care as it just means the money set aside to pay for it can gain another 3 weeks interest!

It'll turn up when it turns up...

Everyone's in the same boat mate. Mine was built 8th Dec and due on week 50 of 2006. The delay has meant I now collect the car on the 12th of Jan - the anticipation is getting the best of me! But, all the frustration will turn into excitement as the days roll on.

So, hang tight, and your pride and joy will be with you soon!!

Mine is:

White with black roof
Black bonnet stripes
Chilli pack
Sports suspension
Black leather seats (can't remember what they were called but better than the punched leather stuff)
Brushed ali inside

Think that was about it! To be honest I can't remember!! We'll see when it turns up...

Just to put the cat amongst the pigeons - saw a new CS today. Did a double take, but yes, sure as eggs is eggs, 'twas a new CS.

Must've been a demonstrator.

The demonstrators and the first few pre ordered MCS's were built from a earlier batch of fuel pumps so there will be some out there. All MCS's ordered on and after launch date suffered from the leaky fuel pump.

Test driving a New CS tomorrow but it will be the half hour with the salesman variety. Have not got any funds so must not be tempted.

Nobody mention loans.

So you're taking a test-drive in a car that you have no intention to buy? Have you told the salesman that his time won't lead to a sale at present?

I'm going to clean my Mini One and do some group shots of the One and the new CS, sort of spot the difference type.

I hope the MCS is providing to be everything you thought it was going to be.

Did you spec the sport suspension? How are you finding it especially when the 'sport' button is engaged?

Looking forward to the pictures.

Early days yet, we've only covered 60 miles so far. We actually had to turn the sport button off when travelling energetically over some rather bouncy NY Moors roads last night.

The plan is to keep this one and after 3 years, instead of changing it, we’ll put it in for the full Works performance conversion. That said Mini UK is yet to launch a Works conversion for this R56 model.

I would imagine they will have one firmly up and running in 3 years time.

Where about are you located in NY?

I am originally from the Settle/Ingleton (equal distance from Skipton and Kriby Lonsdale) area and the A/B roads around that part of the world are second to non. The A65 is a road made for fast driving. There is also a great pass from Ingelton to Haws (past white scar caves) which is a personal favorite.
